Position Overview

Cortina is seeking Junior- and Mid-Level Administrative and Operations Support Specialists / Analysts to support day-to-day activities with the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP). These positions provide general administrative, operational, and business support to government staff in a federal law enforcement environment. Responsibilities will align with the selected candidate’s experience level and assigned projects; these are not Subject Matter Expert positions. Personnel may be reassigned across branches, projects, programs, divisions, or directorates as mission priorities evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Support daily office operations, logistics, administrative coordination, and other routine business activities.

Prepare, format, organize, and maintain documents, correspondence, presentations, and records.

Enter, update, and track data; compile information; and assist with routine reports and basic analysis.

Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and materials, document meeting notes, and track follow-up actions.

Provide administrative support to government executives and staff.

Assist with SharePoint content updates, document organization, and site administration, as appropriate to experience level.

Support routine program activities and human resources administrative tasks.

Assist with quick-response requests, including basic graphics for presentations and briefings, meeting facilitation, and short-term project support.

Collaborate with government staff and contractor team members, provide responsive customer service, and follow established DHS, CBP, and USBP procedures.

Required Qualifications - All Levels

Excellent customer service and the ability to work professionally in a federal law enforcement environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Ability to obtain and retain a CBP Background Investigation (BI), which includes fingerprinting, credit checks, criminal history checks, and verification of employment and military service.

Level-Specific Qualifications

Junior-Level

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in administrative or office support roles.

Education: High school diploma or associate degree required; some college coursework or a certification is preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic office equipment and the ability to learn new software and systems.

Preferred Certification: Basic proficiency certification in Microsoft Office Suite. No certifications are required.

Mid-Level / Analyst

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in administrative, operational, or business support roles.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or professional certificate from an accredited institution.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in SharePoint and basic data reporting tools, in addition to Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, or data analysis tools such as Power BI. No certifications are required.

Candidates will be considered for the level that aligns with their experience, education, and demonstrated skills.
