Are you a passionate, empathetic Therapist with a drive to make a lasting impact on the lives of adolescents?

Gateway Rehab Centers (GRC) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Adolescent Therapist to facilitate therapy and perform case management for our Youth Program in Center Township, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Completes initial assessments upon admission.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions daily.
  • Completes treatment plans with patients and reviews every 2 weeks.
  • Provide patient psychoeducation as scheduled.
  • Completes progress notes and group notes for patient charts.
  • Makes contacts for collateral information.
  • Contacts insurance companies and other providers for continuing care reviews.
  • Transports patients as necessary.
  • Supervises adolescent patients as necessary.
  • Intervenes in crises with patients.
  • Perform case management duties: evaluating and documenting patient progress, discharge summaries, continuing care planning, and coordination of transfers.
  • Facilitate daily shift reports and participate in treatment team meetings.
  • Attends consultation and supervision sessions, training, and staff meetings.
  • Assists with developing program curriculum materials for group sessions.
  • Assesses and appropriately reports patient abuse and neglect.
  • Conducts searches and urine screens as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and other professionals.
  • Understands the nature of addiction, including its psychological, physiological, and social aspects.
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments to diagnose substance use disorders and/or co-occurring conditions.
  • Ability to provide individual and/or group therapy to help patients understand their addiction and develop coping strategies.
  • Skilled at analyzing complex situations and making sound decisions regarding treatment and intervention strategies.
  • Has the capacity to manage personal stress and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Ability to uphold strict confidentiality to protect patients’ privacy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • One year’s experience in a behavioral health environment preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Pass a PA Criminal Background Check
  • Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for Gateway patients
  • Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record required.
