Hiring Range $130,000.00 - $155,000.00
Actual pay depends on specialty, experience, and performance.
Riverside is currently seeking a Full- Time Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our team at Riverside Pulmonary & Critical Care Specialists in Newport News, Virginia.
Pulmonary & Critical Care
Join our growing Pulmonary & Critical Care team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients with complex respiratory and critical care needs. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide high-quality patient care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Position Summary The Advanced Practice Provider will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions as well as critically ill patients. This role may include a combination of outpatient clinic responsibilities, inpatient rounding, and critical care coverage.
- Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and manage pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, interstitial lung disease, sleep disorders, and respiratory infections.
- Provide care for critically ill patients in intensive care and hospital settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Order, interpret, and communicate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic study results.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with licensure and organizational policies.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, nurses, care managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support evidence-based clinical practice.
Qualifications
· Nurse Practitioners
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current or eligible Virginia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
- National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)
· Physician Assistants
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current or eligible Virginia Physician Assistant license
- National certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
· Licensure & Regulatory Requirements
- Eligible for Virginia licensure at time of hire
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
- BLS certification required ; ACLS preferred based on practice setting.
