Job Description Summary

The Test Engineer is responsible for the technical execution, data analysis, and troubleshooting of aero-derivative gas turbine testing. You will serve as the primary technical interface during the testing phase, ensuring that engines meet rigorous mechanical integrity, performance and quality standards while driving continuous improvement in test cell operations and safety.

Job Description

About This Role

Gas turbines don't just generate power — they keep critical infrastructure running across the world. As a Senior Test Engineer focused on the LM2500 and LM6000 aero-derivative gas turbine product lines, you will be at the heart of ensuring these machines meet the performance standards that customers and operators depend on. Your work will directly influence product quality, fleet reliability, and the continuous improvement of how GE Vernova tests, validates, and certifies some of the most advanced turbine technology in the industry.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who combines engineering rigour with a genuine curiosity for solving complex problems — and who wants to see the direct result of their work running in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engine testing for the LM2500 and LM6000 product lines, analysing engine performance and vibration data to confirm adherence to specifications and performance guarantees.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for complex issues involving test cell systems, instrumentation, and turbine anomalies — driving root-cause analysis to resolve performance or mechanical discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, including commissioning, pre-checks, mapping, and test sequences, ensuring alignment with global standardisation efforts.
  • Collaborate across functions — partnering with manufacturing engineering, shop operations, and GO (Global Operations) teams to resolve fleet-wide technical challenges and support the introduction of new products or processes.
  • Drive operational excellence by participating in shop reviews and leading improvements in First-Pass Yield (FPY) and cycle time through Lean methodology and Kaizen-based continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and communicate technical reports for internal and external stakeholders, providing clear, actionable insights into testing outcomes and any corrective actions taken.

About You

You are an experienced turbine test engineer who brings both technical depth and a collaborative mindset. You are equally comfortable digging into data and communicating findings clearly to a wide range of audiences.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering — or equivalent technical experience in a relevant field
  • Proven experience in aero-derivative gas turbine testing and operations
  • Working knowledge of data acquisition systems and engine control logic
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Clear and effective communication skills in English, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally
  • Direct hands-on experience with LM2500 and/or LM6000 platforms
  • Familiarity with Lean methodology and structured continuous improvement techniques (e.g., Kaizens)
