AI Risk Intelligence, Monitoring & Governance Intern (Distribution Risk)

Join Manulife Singapore's Distribution Risk Line 1B team and help drive the adoption of AI-enabled solutions to strengthen risk governance, conduct risk monitoring and fit & proper assessment processes.

As an AI Risk Intelligence, Monitoring & Governance Intern, you will work with Risk, Compliance and Business stakeholders to develop practical AI and analytics capabilities that improve risk assessment, enhance governance processes and support proactive risk monitoring. The internship will focus on four strategic initiatives: the development of an AI-Powered Fit & Proper Assessment Tool, an AI-Powered Close Monitoring System, an AI-Powered Replacement of Policy Assessment Tool and a Conduct Risk Early Warning Framework .

This role offers the opportunity to apply emerging AI technologies to real-world regulatory and operational challenges. You will gain hands-on experience in process automation, data analytics and workflow optimization while contributing to initiatives that strengthen supervisory oversight, support informed decision-making and deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Position Responsibilities:

Project Delivery and Governance

• •Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Operations, Distribution and other Business stakeholders to identify opportunities to use AI and analytics to enhance regulatory compliance, risk governance and operational processes.
• •Conduct data cleansing, validation and exploratory analysis to improve data quality and support reliable insights.
• •Create dashboards, reports and management insights to support decision-making, operational monitoring and regulatory oversight.
• •Support user requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, pilot programmes and solution validation with relevant stakeholders.
• •Develop AI-enabled training materials, knowledge articles, demonstration and communication content to improve process understanding and user adoption.
• •Contribute to responsible AI and governance reviews to help ensure solutions remain secure, compliant and customer-centric.

AI-Powered Fit & Proper Assessment Tool

• •Analyse relevant assessment inputs and identify potential risk indicators to enable more consistent, timely and well-documented fit and proper assessments.
• •Support the design, development, testing and implementation of the AI-enabled assessment capability.

AI-Powered Close Monitoring System

Use AI and data analytics to monitor CMM cases, identify cases exceeding prescribed monitoring timelines and assess eligibility for exit based on established business criteria.

AI-Powered Replacement of Policy Assessment Tool

• •Develop AI-assisted capabilities to identify potential policy replacements involving Manulife and third-party products, and support the assessment of replacement-related cases.
• •Design automated workflows to streamline ROP administration, including email classification, case routing and preliminary appeal assessments.
