Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Are you someone with excellent analytical and communication skills? Are you focused and determined in periods of high stress? As the successful candidate you will join RBC Capital Markets’ Securities Lending and Borrowing Desk, an integral part of RBC’s Central Funding Group. You will be expected to act in the best interest of RBC Capital Markets and our clients. The position requires market awareness, sharp trading instincts, disciplined execution and partnership across various internal functional groups.

What will you do?

  • Borrow securities to cover firm and client short positions and meet regulatory obligations
  • Process recalls in a timely manner
  • Generate reporting for traders
  • Reconcile trades with counterparties
  • Optimize trading book for rate and collateral quality
  • Respond to client borrow requests in a timely manner
  • Interact with Prime Brokerage clients
  • Interact with Central Funding and Capital Markets Partners

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Ability to display intellectual flexibility
  • Previous working experience in Capital Markets
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Strong Data Management skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, Python (preferred).
  • Self-starter – Demonstrates aptitude for understanding the underlying goals and tasks while proactively taking initiative as required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic setting
  • Team player with effective communication and presentation skills
  • Detail orientated with good working product knowledge of fixed income and equity products
  • Able to work in a fast-paced trading floor environment

Nice to have:

  • Canadian CIRO registration preferred
  • CFA (or in progress) is an asset
  • Series 7, 63 and SIE exams
  • Background in trading, collateral optimization, treasury functions or risk

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$75,000.00 - $100,000.00
