What you'll do:

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, credit reviews, and periodic covenant checks for assigned credit customers by collecting and evaluating their financial statements.
  • Provide independent assessments of credit proposals submitted by front office teams for facilities booked at the Singapore branch, ensuring objectivity and accuracy in every evaluation.
  • Prepare comprehensive materials required for regulatory inspections by authorities such as FSA, BOJ, MAS or other relevant bodies, maintaining high standards of compliance at all times.
  • Create and verify detailed spreadsheets for both existing assigned customers and new clients to support accurate credit decision-making processes.
  • Remain vigilant regarding changes in the economic and business environment that could potentially impact the creditworthiness of accounts under your responsibility.
  • Draft well-structured credit applications for the renewal of designated credit facilities, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate effective credit review processes and ongoing monitoring of the bank’s portfolio for continued safety and soundness.
  • Support the implementation of best practices in risk management by sharing insights with colleagues and contributing positively to team discussions.
  • Assist in identifying potential areas of concern within customer portfolios early on through careful analysis and proactive communication with relevant parties.

What you bring:

  • A degree in Banking and Finance, Business, Accountancy or Economics is preferred but not mandatory
  • Analyst level: No prior experience is required; however, any previous exposure to financial analysis or credit assessment will be considered an advantage when applying for this position.
  • AVP level: At least 3 years of experience in corporate credit analysis within the banking or finance industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • Excellent written English skills are necessary for preparing clear reports and communicating effectively with both internal teams and external regulators.
  • Strong analytical abilities are crucial as you will be expected to interpret complex financial information accurately while considering its wider impact on portfolio health.
  • Strong communication skills are needed so you can collaborate efficiently with colleagues across departments as well as present findings confidently during meetings or inspections.
  • A proven ability to work harmoniously within a team-oriented environment
