Job Description
Leads credit and account management activities for an assigned sub-portfolio of complex project finance transactions.
Conducts credit analyses, periodic credit reviews and risk rating assessments in line with internal policy and regulatory analytical frameworks plans, implements watchlist protocols, and portfolio surveillance routines
Recommends borrower and regulatory rating actions and assignments across the assigned portfolio
Accountable for accuracy and timeliness of borrower and regulatory rating assignments across the assigned portfolio
Reviews and processes amendments, waivers, and consent requests, and may include restructuring proposals and recommends credit decisions
Designs analytical approaches for evaluating construction progress, sponsor performance, and project cash flows
Resolves complex credit and operational issues spanning documentation, covenant interpretation, and account administration
Tracks and analyzes the assigned portfolio performance, emerging risk trends and raises watchlist concerns in line with internal credit policy
Ensures full compliance with internal credit policies, delegated authority frameworks, and regulatory analytical requirements
Facilitate communication between the department and Tokyo HO including supporting discussions with Planning and Compliance departments. Ensure smooth operations, clarity in policy matters and interpretation issues
Support the department in discussions with Japanese customers on various projects
Managing various initiatives for Head of Department and Head of Division in relation to the portfolio.
Job Requirements
Bachelor Degree qualified in Finance, Banking Accounting, or related equivalent work experience equally preferable
Minimum 4 years of experience in credit analysis, credit writing, portfolio monitoring, recommendation to credit committee or credit approver.
Minimum 2 years of experience in cash flow analysis and financial modelling
Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency) to communicate effectively with stakeholders of various divisions in Tokyo Head Office as the role requires interaction with Japanese speaking stakeholders.
Demonstrated technical skills with a strategic mindset and good business acumen
Proven experience in project finance portfolio management across infrastructure, natural resources, energy, and power sectors
Ability to work on complex syndicated/agented credit facilities, restructurings, and waiver / amendment negotiations
Comprehensive experience in credit risk analysis, borrower and regulatory rating assignment, and periodic portfolio review
Experience implementing portfolio surveillance frameworks aligned with internal credit policy and regulatory analytical standards
Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or any database system.
