Your Job:
The manager of anatomic pathology provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for our brand-new, high-volume pathology laboratory. This role is responsible for directing all facets of Anatomic Pathology—including histology, cytology, and grossing operations—while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, safety, and continuous process improvement. As a key leader, you will guide a dedicated, hard-working team committed to delivering timely and exceptionally high-quality patient care. You will champion our core culture by ensuring staff have the necessary tools, feel deeply respected, and remain highly engaged across all shifts.
The ideal candidate is an articulate, highly collaborative communicator who balances robust technical and regulatory expertise (including CAP guidelines) with an approachable, servant-leadership style. While maintaining high standards of accountability, this manager will actively mentor staff, spearhead process improvement teams, and build strong, seamless relationships with pathologists, and hospital leadership. Prior management experience is preferred.
The Manager Atomic Pathology participates as a team to provide timely and accurate results for area assigned. Assures compliance with all regulatory agencies for assigned area.
- Your Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Masters of Science Degree
- 10 years of clinical laboratory experience to include report writing and research activity in assigned area.
- 5 years of supervisory experience in assigned area.
- High level of energy and motivation.
Your Job Responsibilities:
- Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
- Develops new programs and/or protocols to enhance patient care delivery. Recommends capital equipment or other resources to enhance patient care and/or department operations.
- Participates in the identification, data collection and appropriate resolution of problems that may involve patients and/or departments through quality process improvement.
- Serves a resource for other staff or clients regarding laboratory and section matters
- Creates and maintains a safe environment for self, co-workers, and facility
- Communicate clearly and openly
- Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment
