Description
Alaska Northstar Federal (ANF), a member of the Shee Atiká Family of Companies, is currently seeking a Release Manager/Change Manager to join the team on a new and exciting program.
This project supports the modernization of a mission-critical enterprise workforce management platform through cloud migration and technology transformation. The effort focuses on improving scalability, security, reliability, and operational resilience while implementing modern DevSecOps and automation practices. Team members will contribute to cloud engineering, systems integration, cybersecurity, and process modernization initiatives that enable a more secure and efficient enterprise environment.
The Release Manager (RM)/Change Manager (CM) oversees end-to-end software deployment lifecycles, ensuring seamless scheduling, cross-environment synchronization, risk mitigation, and strict governance from pre-release approval through post-implementation review. The RM/CM will also provide end-to-end release orchestration, cross-functional stakeholder alignment, environment parity management, and risk mitigation. The focus will be maintaining system stability and adherence to governance while driving deployment efficiency.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop release calendars and deployment schedules.
- Work closely with Change Managers.
- Provide version control for release artifacts.
- Verify that all required approvals are obtained before deployment.
- Confirm development, testing, security, and operational requirements are complete.
- Validate that release documentation is accurate.
- Coordinate production deployments and cutover activities.
- Track release execution and resolve deployment issues.
- Evaluate risks associated with planned releases.
- Manage escalations during release events.
- Ensure development, test, staging, and production environments are synchronized.
- Verify configuration items and release packages are properly controlled.
- Confirm systems are functioning correctly after deployment.
- Coordinate post-implementation reviews.
- Document lessons learned and process improvements.
Requirements
Minimum Candidate Requirements
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
Candidate must have a bachelor's degree
Candidate must be eligible to pass a NACI and be granted a position of public trust.
Candidate must have an active Security+ CE or other applicable 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Candidate must be eligible for CAC
Candidate must have 4+ years experience with the following:
- Managing enterprise-scale system change management & releases
- Creating and maintaining release and change documentation
- Creating change calendars and managing change/release cycles
- Coordinating change implementation and validation.
- Creating escalation chains and escalating to the proper stakeholder.
Candidate must have 3+ years experience managing system change management & releases in a Federal or DoD environment.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience managing Oracle EBS system change management & releases
- Experience coordinating major, cross-platform database migration
- Experience validating post migration data integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document requirements.
- Ability to provide accurate and realistic effort estimates, commit and deliver accordingly.
- Ability to work productively in a team environment and participate as a positive and cooperative team member.
- Strong verbal, written, organizational and documentation skills.
