• Role Overview:
• The Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Specialist is responsible for conducting customer due diligence (CDD), Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews, sanctions and PEP screening, risk assessments, and ongoing monitoring activities. The role supports the onboarding and maintenance of merchants while ensuring compliance with applicable AML, CTF, sanctions, and internal regulatory requirements.

The AML Specialist works closely with Sales, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure that customer onboarding decisions are made in line with regulatory obligations, internal policies, and the organization's risk appetite.

What you will do:

AML Screening & Risk Assessment:

• •Perform sanctions, PEP, adverse media, and watchlist screening.
• •Investigate potential matches and determine appropriate escalation actions.
• •Assess customer risk factors and assign AML risk ratings according to established methodologies.
• •Identify potential red flags related to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and sanctions evasion.

Ongoing Monitoring:

• •Review alerts generated through AML monitoring tools.
• •Conduct periodic customer reviews and trigger event reviews.
• •Support remediation and refresh exercises for existing customer portfolios.
• •Escalate suspicious activities or unusual findings to Compliance as required.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

• •Partner with Sales, Onboarding, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and other business functions.
• •Provide guidance on AML/KYC requirements and documentation standards.
• •Support process improvements and contribute to the development of AML procedures and controls.
• •Participate in training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Who you are:

• •Experience within payments, banking, fintech, acquiring, or financial services.
• •experience in AML is an asset but is not mandatory
• •Strong analytical and investigative skills
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• •Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
