Job Summary

The Applications Engineer I is an entry‑level technical role responsible for supporting product applications, assisting customers and sales teams, and contributing to application development efforts. Job Description

  • The Applications Engineer I provides technical and application support for products and solutions, serving as a bridge between engineering, sales, and customers. This entry‑level role focuses on learning product capabilities, supporting customer applications, assisting with technical evaluations, and contributing to application development and documentation. The Applications Engineer I works under close supervision while building foundational technical, analytical, and customer‑facing skills.
  • This position is ideal for early‑career engineers seeking hands‑on experience in product applications, customer support, and solution development.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Application & Technical Support
  • Support customers and internal teams with product application questions and basic technical guidance
  • Assist with product selection, configuration, and application recommendations
  • Help troubleshoot application and performance issues under guidance from senior engineers

Engineering & Product Collaboration

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand product design, specifications, and performance characteristics
  • Support testing, evaluation, and validation of products in customer or lab environments
  • Assist with product improvements by documenting application feedback and performance data

Sales & Customer Support

  • Provide technical support to sales teams during the pre‑sales and post‑sales process
  • Assist with preparation of technical proposals, presentations, and application documentation
  • Participate in customer meetings, demonstrations, or site visits as needed

Documentation & Process Support

  • Assist in preparing application notes, technical documentation, and training materials
  • Maintain accurate records of customer requirements, applications, and support activities
  • Follow established engineering processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines
  • Qualifications
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
  • 0–1 year of engineering, applications, or technical support experience (internships and co‑ops included)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Fundamental understanding of engineering principles relevant to the product domain
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to learn technical products and applications quickly
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CAD or engineering tools preferred
  • Ability to work independently with guidance and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Customer‑focused mindset with attention to detail
