Description

At RDG, our architects are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of possibility for our clients and communities. As we expand our presence nationwide, we're seeking an experienced architect to play a pivotal role in designing innovative spaces and helping lead and shape the future of our New York office.

In this role, you'll lead marketing efforts for RDG’s College & University market in the northeast. Beyond your design responsibilities, you'll serve as a mentor within the office, helping nurture the team's growth and the office itself. This dual focus on client relationships and office development offers a unique opportunity to influence both our projects and our practice at a fundamental level.

Because of the uniqueness of this role, our ideal candidate is someone who is entrepreneurial, seeks opportunities for personal development and is proactive in pursuing pathways that enhance both individual and collective achievements. This person should be motivated by a desire to make a significant impact and go the extra mile to ensure the success of our New York office and collaborate with RDG’s College & University team and other market leaders.

  • Essential involvement in helping to recruit and build the New York, college & university and health science education teams
  • Serve as mentor and resource for internal team members
  • Produce presentations that communicate our design knowledge, inspire our clients and effectively communicate design solutions

Requirements

  • Possess strong leadership, written and verbal skills to instill confidence and trust in our clients and staff
  • Serve as a resource for our New York office, helping to grow RDG's brand and market share
  • Critical thinking collaborator with excellent soft skills, relationship and executing strengths
  • Sound design communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated history of building long-term relationships with team members and clients
  • Able to develop successful strategies for helping to complete work on time and budget

  • 15+ years of professional work experience with experience specifically designing for higher education environments
  • Licensed New York architect or the ability to acquire certification and licensure required
