the posting

Cisco Silicon One is seeking an experienced ASIC Engineer with deep expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, and supplier quality to drive manufacturing excellence across our advanced semiconductor supply chain.

In this role, you will serve as a key technical interface between Cisco engineering teams and external manufacturing partners, with a focus on advanced IC substrates, wafer bumping, semiconductor assembly, and OSAT manufacturing processes.

You will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust manufacturing processes, improve yield and quality performance, resolve complex technical and reliability issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions throughout the product lifecycle.

This is a highly technical and hands-on individual contributor role requiring deep semiconductor manufacturing expertise, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders without direct line authority.

What make a successful candidate:

- Strong knowledge of semiconductor substrate, OSAT processes, and troubleshooting methodologies.

- Solid understanding of process flow, process control items, and manufacturing operations.

- Strong background in quality systems and quality methodologies, including SPC, OCAP, FMEA, and APQP.

- Familiar with inspection and measurement systems, including MSA/GRR, and supplier audit management.

- Extensive experience in supplier quality management, supply chain risk assessment, and driving supplier performance improvement.

- Strong problem-solving capability with hands-on experience in 8D methodology and root cause analysis.

- Proven experience driving quality and operational improvements through collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

- Demonstrated leadership in working cross-functionally with Manufacturing Operations, Assembly Process, Bumping Process, Product Engineering, and Supplier Engineering teams to resolve yield loss and field reliability issues, and implement effective corrective/preventive actions.

- Strong statistical analysis capability with experience handling large data sets and presenting data-driven conclusions to management.

- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to influence technical decision-making, drive supplier quality culture transformation, and lead continuous improvement initiatives (CIP).

- Strong project management capability with experience managing priorities, schedules, risks, and execution across multiple suppliers and programs.

- Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance across engineering teams is preferred.

Requirements/Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering (Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Semiconductor Physics, or related disciplines).

- Minimum 8-12+ years of hands-on semiconductor industry experience, with deep specialization in advanced IC substrates (ABF / FCBGA), wafer bumping, OSAT assembly, or supplier quality engineering.

- Proven track record as an autonomous, high-impact Individual Contributor or Technical Lead capable of driving complex root cause analysis, supplier audits, and quality governance without needing direct line authority.
