The Role

At Xos, we're building innovative commercial electric vehicles and energy solutions, and we're looking for hands-on Assembly Technicians to join our manufacturing team in Byrdstown, TN.

As an Assembly Technician, you'll play an important role in assembling the mechanical and electrical components that make up our commercial vehicle chassis and energy products, including the Xos HUB. From mechanical assembly and wiring to installing electrical components and enclosures, your work will directly contribute to the quality and reliability of our products.

We're looking for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, have strong mechanical aptitude, and take pride in producing quality work. Experience with electrical assembly, wiring, or industrial equipment is a plus, but a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and commitment to safety are just as important.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks for commercial vehicle chassis, energy products, and related systems according to production specifications and work instructions.

Assemble and install mechanical components, electrical enclosures, wiring harnesses, relays, and other components.

Perform wiring, cable routing, electrical connections, and component installation as part of the assembly process.

Support the assembly of high-voltage electrical enclosures and related components following established safety procedures and training.

Use hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment to complete assigned production tasks.

Inspect assembled components to identify defects, ensure proper installation, and maintain quality standards.

Identify and report assembly-related issues and assist with troubleshooting or corrective actions as needed.

Complete work orders, assembly reports, and other required production documentation.

Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to support production goals and continuous improvement.

Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing, automotive technology, or a related field preferred.

Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, or a related production environment preferred.

Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, electrical enclosures, relays, or similar industrial electrical components preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.

Experience assembling high-voltage electrical components or systems is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Basic problem-solving skills and ability to identify and communicate assembly-related issues.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow established production procedures.

Willingness to learn new assembly processes, tools, and techniques.

Good time management skills and ability to meet production schedules.

Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Must be available to work 1st shift, currently scheduled Monday through Thursday (6am-4:30pm)

Ability and willingness to work overtime, including Fridays, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support production requirements.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods. The role requires regular use of hands and fingers to operate tools, handle components, and perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks. Employees are required to lift, push, pull, and carry materials, components, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Assistance or lifting equipment may be provided for heavier or oversized items as needed.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment, where employees may work at assembly stations, on production lines, or in and around commercial vehicle chassis and other manufacturing equipment.
