Job Description Summary
Join Service Stream in our newest acquisition for the Victoria West ITS Maintenance Contract (VIMC) as our Asset Data & Insights Coordinator!
About the Role
We are excited to launch new roles in our Transport division to support our two new long-term Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) maintenance contracts awarded by the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning. The Victoria West ITS Maintenance Contract (VIMC) will see our teams maintain more than 4,500 ITS assets across 27 Local Government Areas, covering around a third of metropolitan Melbourne and extending west to the South Australian border. We also have the Motorway Communications Network Contract, which connects more than 2,000 roadside devices including lane use management signs, variable speed limit signs, freeway ramp signals, CCTV and sensor technologies, while also connecting private road operators with Victoria’s transport control system.
About the Role:
As our Asset Data & Insights Coordinator, you will coordinate the VIMC asset data governance, quality and reporting so that asset, fault, inspection and works information is complete, accurate and usable for operational decisions, contract reporting and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Data Governance
- Maintain asset data standards, definitions, ownership, validation controls and change processes across the VIMC asset register and connected systems.
- Reconcile inherited, migrated and newly collected data and coordinate resolution of gaps, duplicates and inconsistencies.
- Insights and Reporting
- Develop recurring reports, dashboards and analysis covering asset condition, faults, response performance, inspections, servicing and work delivery.
- Translate data into clear insights for planning, engineering, contract performance and DTP stakeholders.
- Data Quality Assurance
- Undertake routine checks of data completeness, timeliness and accuracy, maintain issue logs and verify corrective actions.
- Preserve traceability and audit evidence for asset and performance information, including Section 751 data compliance where applicable.
- Systems and Improvement
- Support MMIS configuration, DTP system interfaces, mobile field enablement and reporting requirements.
- Document processes, train users and identify opportunities to reduce double handling and improve data capture.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will have experience in asset information, data coordination, reporting or analysis within infrastructure, transport, utilities or maintenance services.
You may also have:
- Experience working with large operational datasets and data-quality controls.
- Qualification in asset management, data analytics, information systems, engineering, business or equivalent experience.
- Strong Excel, Power BI or comparable reporting skills and familiarity with asset or works management systems.
- High attention to detail, data governance discipline and analytical problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate data issues and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
