Assistant Coach, Women's Soccer

Position Highlights

Reporting to the Head Coach of Women's Soccer, the 10-month Assistant Coach plays a key role in supporting all aspects of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer program. This position assists with the planning, organization, and administration of team operations while fostering a positive and competitive student-athlete experience. Responsibilities include recruiting academically qualified and talented student-athletes, assisting with practice planning and game preparation, providing on-field coaching and skill development, supporting player development initiatives, and serving as a mentor to student-athletes. The Assistant Coach is also responsible for maintaining a strong understanding of and adherence to NCAA, conference, and university policies and regulations while contributing to the overall success and culture of the program.

This position is a one-year appointment, with the potential for renewal on an annual basis, contingent upon organizational need, funding, and satisfactory performance .

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• •Builds relationships with players to provide mentorship, guidance, and support both on and off the field/court
• •Coaches and instructs student athletes during practices and on game day in how to perform their sport such as proper skills and instruction of fundamentals, physical health, team concepts, and safety
• •Support the overall physical conditioning needs of student-athletes in conjunction with the head coach and strength & conditioning staff
• •Conducts player evaluations and develop plans to enhance the student-athlete experience
• •Seeks out, applies, and shares knowledge of sport trends and innovations in playing and teaching
• •Assists with practice planning, workouts, scouting, film breakdown, and game management
• •Collaborates with the head coach to devise game plans and strategies for upcoming opponents
• •Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience

• •Bachelor's degree in related field
• •1 year of relevant experience
• •NCAA Coaches Certification, or ability to pass certification test
• •AED/CPR and First Aid Certification
