Role Overview:

We are recruiting an Assistant Manager to join our high-calibre UK Entity Management team, responsible for delivering an extensive range of corporate secretarial and governance services for the UK entities of our Global clients, providing high quality advice and work with others in the team to deliver an excellent client experience and ensure clients remain up to date with their statutory obligations.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery for a portfolio of high-profile institutional clients, supported by Consultants and Senior Consultants, and will act as the escalation point for the team, providing technical guidance, reviewing their work, and ensuring consistently high standards across the team's output. This role is central to our succession planning strategy, and the individual will play a key part in training and mentoring junior colleagues.

Main responsibilities:

Deliver a range of high-quality company secretarial services to a range of clients in line with your billable hours and recovery rate targets.

Follow operational processes which ensure financial hygiene (time recording, in/out of scope work, billing etc), effective document management and support data driven decision making (e.g., up to date resourcing plan, skill matrix, feedback and performance management etc).

Develop and follow personal development plans to assist with the increase of services able to provide and progress through the UK CSS career path.

Managing team members’ workflow, day to day activities and leading technical initiatives.

Line management of team members, undertaking performance management and appraisals.

Provide feedback on work produced and answer queries by more junior members of the team to ensure that quality service delivery to clients is maintained across UK CSS.

Oversee maintenance of electronic corporate records using Diligent Entities and undertaking any statutory filings with the Registrar of Companies.

Advising a portfolio of clients on compliance matters, including annual statutory requirements, routine company changes and share capital changes.

Undertaking health checks of statutory records and the reconstitution of records where required.

Corresponding directly with clients and third parties.

Providing advice on corporate governance best practice and reviewing relevant documentation.

Oversee the team's onboarding process for new business, and act as the point of escalation for KYC queries raised by clients and law firm partners

Identifying opportunities to introduce new business, developing additional sales from existing clients and crossing services across Law Debenture.

Provide support as required in developing processes and procedures within the UK CSS team.

Remain up to date with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, horizon scan for upcoming changes and help in identifying new areas of business.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience

CGI part or fully qualified (or other professional qualification if relevant experience can be demonstrated and interested in undertaking CGI qualification)

Degree educated, preferably in business or law

Extensive experience in UK entity management/subsidiary governance

Some experience managing workflows and training junior members of a team

Strong organisational skills

High level of attention to detail

Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and confident in communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels

A team player, who can work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders

Commercial and practical outlook

Ability to build relationships and rapport, demonstrating credibility

Ability to work on your own initiative and to take ownership of tasks, time and workload by prioritising and managing expectations.

Contributing towards monthly forecasting and work to ensure targets are met
