Position Summary:

The Assistant Principal of School Culture (APSC) on assignment is a leadership development role designed to prepare leaders for future APSC opportunities across Mastery's Philadelphia and Camden campuses. The APSC implements restorative practices within a Mastery school in Philadelphia or Camden. Reporting to and working closely with the Principal, they will serve as the instructional, cultural and behavioral leader of the school and will cultivate a participatory, achievement-focused, and outcomes-driven school culture. They will also coach a talented team of teachers around best practices in classroom management, create and oversee extracurricular activities that bridge school culture with academics, and foster parental and community involvement. This individual will be a prevalent leader within the school community, partnering with teachers, parents, administrators and students to ensure desired academic achievement and a culture of accountability. During temporary campus assignments, the APSC On Assignment may assume the full responsibilities of an APSC to ensure continuity of school leadership during vacancies, leaves, or transitions. The role also supports network-wide student development priorities and strengthens Mastery's pipeline of future school leaders.
