Job Description Summary
Miami University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the Marketing Department starting Fall 2027. This position will involve high-quality teaching, an active research agenda, and service to the profession and university. This is a full time, tenure-track position.
Job Description
The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the Marketing Department and maintain an active research program . The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to innovative curriculum development that moves beyond foundational marketing toward the next generation of technology-enabled marketing practice. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to preparing students for a rapidly evolving marketing landscape shaped by emerging technologies, shifting media, and data-driven customer expectations.
Candidates must demonstrate strong research potential and a commitment to publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. Applicants should either have a well-developed research pipeline or provide clear evidence of the ability to establish one. The ideal candidate will contribute to the department’s research strengths and pursue scholarship that addresses contemporary challenges in marketing.
The Department of Marketing is in the Farmer School of Business, and has approximately 320 graduates per year, and consists of approximately 28 faculty members made up of tenure/tenure-track, teaching and clinical faculty and visiting faculty. Minimum Qualifications:
Required: Doctorate in marketing, or a related discipline applicable to teaching and scholarship in the marketing area. Candidates nearing completion of a Ph.D. will be considered, with the expectation that the degree will be conferred by December 31, 2027.
Consideration may be given to candidates who demonstrate excellent teaching evaluations and/or strong teaching potential in Principles of Marketing, Marketing Strategy and/or Marketing Analytics, as well as a strong research record or potential, reflected through publications, working papers, or papers under review.
