Silgan Containers is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to help lead day-to-day manufacturing operations at our Sacramento, CA facility. This is a hands-on plant leadership role focused on safety, quality, production efficiency, continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence.

The compensation for this CA-based position is competitive and based on experience, education, and skills, typically ranging from $88,000 - $115,000 per year. You will spend significant time on the production floor, build an in-depth understanding of our manufacturing processes and equipment, and partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive results in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

What you will do:

• •Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives while helping maintain plant quality standards
• •Review quality inspections and production performance, investigate issues, and take action to maintain established standards and efficiencies
• •Develop an in-depth understanding of can and end components, manufacturing equipment, and production processes
• •Lead and support plant safety programs while reinforcing safety, housekeeping, and company standards across operations
• •Assist with the training and development of supervisors, management trainees, and hourly employees and support performance feedback and evaluations
• •Support effective resource management, including labor records and inventory or purchasing responsibilities as assigned
• •Oversee warehouse activities to help maintain smooth and consistent inbound and outbound product flow
• •Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall plant performance

We need you to have:

• •Associate’s degree required or relevant experience
• •Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), basic quality management tools, and quality software
• •Ability to develop a strong working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, can components, and production processes
• •Self-directed approach with strong organizational and planning skills.
• •Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and promote a team-oriented environment
• •Strong communication and presentation skills, including comfort presenting to both small and large groups
• •Flexibility to maintain an in-plant presence as needed within a 24/7 manufacturing operation
