About Us

Rho is the modern banking platform built for the AI era. Startups and growth-stage companies can open accounts in minutes, issue cards, manage expenses, pay bills, and close the books – all in one connected platform backed by real human support.

About the Role

Rho is seeking an Associate Compliance Officer to support our onboarding compliance team. You'll own day-to-day customer due diligence (CDD) and Know Your Business (KYB) work for new client onboarding — gathering and verifying documentation, running risk assessments against established frameworks, and escalating issues to senior compliance staff. You'll play a vital part in keeping Rho compliant with BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements while maintaining the application review velocity our customers expect. This full-time, onsite role is a strong fit for someone looking to build a career in banking or fintech compliance within a growing, mission-driven company.

What You'll Do

Support the CDD and KYC/KYB processes for new client onboarding by gathering and organizing required documentation in accordance with BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements

Collect and verify client documentation, including business formation documents, ownership structures, and beneficial ownership information, escalating discrepancies to senior team members

Assist in performing risk assessments on potential clients using established frameworks and checklists

Flag and escalate suspicious activity or potential compliance issues identified during onboarding to senior compliance staff

Coordinate with internal teams, including sales and operations, to collect outstanding client information and ensure timely onboarding

Maintain accurate and complete records of client onboarding files, compliance decisions, and supporting documentation in accordance with team standards

Support periodic reviews of existing client accounts by gathering and organizing documentation for senior team review

Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and data pulls as directed by management

Support updates to policies and procedures by documenting process changes and maintaining version-controlled records

Utilize compliance technology platforms to process onboarding tasks, input data, and maintain system accuracy

Follow established onboarding compliance policies and procedures, providing feedback to senior staff on potential process improvements

Participate in compliance training sessions and apply best practices to daily onboarding tasks, developing foundational knowledge of fintech and banking regulation through ongoing training and self-study

Take on other activities as determined by your supervisor

You Have

A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred

1–2 years of experience in compliance, finance, banking, or a related operations role

Working understanding of BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements, including CDD and KYB concepts

Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Ability to manage a queue independently, prioritize across competing deadlines, and meet required service levels

Comfort working in compliance technology platforms and learning new systems quickly

Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to know when to escalate

Compensation & Schedule

Full-time, salaried position with benefits

Onsite work environment

Standard weekday schedule; occasional flexibility may be needed to meet onboarding volume

Opportunity for growth into senior compliance roles based on performance and business needs

Diversity is a core value at Rho. We are committed to building a welcoming and inclusive workplace for all.
