The successful candidate will design, prototype, evaluate, and help operationalize AI-enabled solutions that enhance scientific analysis, automate quantitative workflows, and accelerate data-driven decision-making. The candidate will play a key role in establishing rigorous evaluation frameworks, benchmarking strategies, and statistical methodologies for assessing Generative AI and agentic systems.
The candidate will work across multimodal biomedical and healthcare data , including omics, medical imaging, digital health technologies (DHTs), and real-world data (RWD), and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate emerging AI capabilities into scientifically rigorous and impactful solutions.
The role is ideal for an individual who combines strong AI/ML and computational capabilities with a solid foundation in statistics and quantitative sciences , and who enjoys working at the intersection of emerging technology, data science, and drug development.
Key Responsibilities
AI/ML, Generative AI & Agentic AI:
- Lead the development and application of AI/ML solutions to address scientific, analytical, and operational challenges across pharmaceutical R&D.
- Design, prototype, and evaluate Generative AI and agentic AI workflows that automate or augment statistical analysis, data science, programming, scientific reasoning, and other knowledge-intensive workflows.
- Evaluate AI/ML solutions using rigorous, fit-for-purpose frameworks addressing factors such as accuracy, reproducibility, robustness, reliability, and human oversight.
- Collaborate with statisticians, data scientists, clinicians, scientists, engineers, and technology partners to translate scientific problems into practical AI/ML solutions.
Quantitative Science & Advanced Analytics:
Serve as a statistical SME within multidisciplinary project teams, providing guidance on digital biomarker (imaging and wearables) study design, statistical methodology, analysis, interpretation, and evidence generation.
Apply AI/ML, statistical, and data-science methods to a broad range of multimodal biomedical data, including: omics, imaging, DHT, clinical and real-world data.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear scientific insights and recommendations for cross-functional partners.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD with 2 years of relevant professional experience in Data science, Computer Science, Engineering, Biostatistics, Machine Learning, or another quantitative STEM discipline; or
- Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Biostatistics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong hands-on experience in AI/ML, data science, or advanced quantitative analytics.
- Experience developing or applying Generative AI, LLMs, agentic AI, or other modern AI/ML approaches.
- Strong programming skills in R and/or Python.
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts, experimental/study design, data analysis, and quantitative interpretation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multifunctional teams.
- Excellent written, verbal, and scientific communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex AI/ML and quantitative concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow , or comparable machine-learning/deep-learning frameworks.
