What You Will Do:
As an Associate Director in Guidehouse’s Commercial Financial Services sector, you will be a leader of some of our largest Insurance industry accounts with broad responsibility across business development, client relationship management, staff development, client delivery, and internal operations. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Leading and assisting in business development efforts through opportunity identification, capture planning, proposal development, SOW review, and pricing strategy.
- Serving as an account leader responsible for expanding Guidehouse's presence within client accounts, driving sales, overseeing deliverables, ensuring contract compliance, managing engagement financials, and maintaining corporate compliance standards.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to client executives and senior stakeholders, helping shape and execute business strategies related to growth, customer experience, operating model transformation, and technology-enabled change.
- Becoming a recognized insurance industry leader within Guidehouse and among clients by bringing insights, best practices, and innovative solutions that strengthen Guidehouse's market reputation and expand our footprint.
- Maintaining a relentless focus on delivering measurable client outcomes and growing Guidehouse's contribution to client success while operating within the firm's strategic priorities and operating framework.
- Modeling courage, accountability, and sound judgment while navigating complex business, organizational, and client challenges.
- Driving transformational change by challenging teams to optimize both short-term execution and long-term business outcomes for clients and Guidehouse.
- Leading strategic initiatives that span business transformation, operations, customer experience, technology modernization, and organizational effectiveness.
- Engaging, mentoring, coaching, and inspiring consulting teams to achieve continuous improvement and deliver exceptional client service.
- Reviewing and analyzing contractual revenue, engagement profitability, forecasting, and budgeting while partnering with practice leadership on account planning activities.
- Guiding and mentoring team members and supporting performance management, career development, and talent growth.
- Providing input on staffing plans, resource deployment, talent acquisition, and employee retention strategies.
- Facilitating executive steering committees, strategic workshops, business reviews, and cross-functional stakeholder meetings.
- Driving execution of complex programs by coordinating cross-functional workstreams, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Developing executive-level presentations, business cases, transformation roadmaps, operating model recommendations, and strategic assessments for senior client leadership.
- Providing onsite leadership presence in corporate and client offices.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Seven (7) to Ten (10) years of professional experience in insurance, financial services, management consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation, or a related field, including experience leading client-facing engagements.
- Deep knowledge of the life insurance, annuity, wealth management, or broader financial services industry.
- Demonstrated ability to build, expand, and manage complex client relationships while growing consulting engagements and business opportunities.
- Experience leading large-scale strategic, customer experience, operating model, digital, or technology-enabled transformation initiatives.
- Expertise in technology and operations optimization.
- Business process improvement, automation, organizational transformation, and change management experience.
- Business architecture and operating model design experience.
- Strong executive communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience developing executive-level presentations, business cases, strategic recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and board-ready materials.
- Proficiency in project and program management practices, including management of complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience supporting long-term client engagements, including capture management, pricing, contract compliance, delivery oversight, and financial management.
- Solid understanding of engagement economics, forecasting, budgeting, and revenue management.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work onsite with clients and Guidehouse teams, including a minimum of three days per week in a Manhattan-based client office.
- Candidates not local to the New York City metro area will be required to relocate themselves to the NYC/NJ area as they will need to be on client site and Guidehouse office.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- PMP, Agile, Prosci, or other relevant professional certification.
- Experience supporting growth strategy, customer experience (CX), distribution transformation, or enterprise transformation initiatives within insurance or financial services organizations.
- Experience leading large-scale technology, digital, operational, or business transformation implementations.
- Established professional network within the life insurance or broader financial services industry.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary consulting teams and managing large strategic client accounts.
- The annual salary range for this position is $162,000.00-$270,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
