This role oversees in-house screening and bioanalytical work, coordinates outsourced studies with contract research organizations (CROs), and ensures the timely delivery of study results across our diverse portfolio spanning small molecules, targeted protein degraders, and ADCs. The Associate Director will also manage, train, and mentor staff, and collaborate with colleagues in biology and chemistry teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation, workload, and priorities of the DMPK and bioanalysis laboratory.
  • Oversee the conduct and analysis, by LC-MS/MS, of vitro assays such as plasma protein binding, microsomal stability, and CYP inhibition including data processing and interpretation.
  • Oversee bioanalysis of preclinical pharmacokinetic (PK) samples for small and large molecules, including sample processing, analysis by LC-MS/MS or ELISA, and PK data processing and interpretation.
  • Ensure the clear, accurate, and timely delivery of study results.
  • Coordinate outsourced in vitro and in vivo studies with domestic and international CROs, from study planning and initiation through data review and reporting.
  • Manage laboratory upkeep, troubleshoot instrument issues and coordinate routine maintenance for LC-MS
  • Collaborate with biology and chemistry teams to align DMPK and bioanalytical work with program needs.
  • Train, mentor, and directly manage laboratory staff, supporting their technical growth, scientific judgment, and professional development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory workflows, data quality, turnaround time, and consistency.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience; or PhD in a relevant field, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years related supervisory experience in a multidisciplinary environment with demonstrated ability to manage, train, or mentor scientists or laboratory staff.
  • Practical experience with quantitative LC-MS/MS bioanalysis, including method development/optimization, sample analysis, data review, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with SCIEX and Waters mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography platforms
  • Working knowledge of in vitro DMPK assays such as protein binding, microsomal stability, and CYP inhibition.
  • Experience calculating, reviewing, and interpreting PK parameters from preclinical studies.
  • Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage competing priorities to meet study timelines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across scientific functions.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience supporting multiple drug modalities, such as small molecules, targeted protein degraders, and ADCs.
  • Familiarity with bioanalytical approaches used for biologics and ADCs, such as ligand-binding assays or modality-specific analytical methods.
  • Experience coordinating external CRO studies and reviewing their data and reports.
