The Role

Bristol Myers Squibb is looking to recruit a permanent Associate Director, GSC (Global Supply Chain) Decision Intelligence Lead.

Position Summary

The GSC Decision Intelligence Lead supports the design, delivery, and adoption of Decision Intelligence capabilities within a defined GSC department, sub-function, or priority capability program. The role contributes to the Decision Intelligence strategy and roadmap under senior leadership direction and helps translate priority decisions into practical models, tools, governance approaches, and adoption plans.

The role focuses on improving decision quality, speed, transparency, and trust for assigned programs and business areas by combining decision modeling, advanced analytics, AI, process intelligence, and human judgment. It contributes to broader Decision Intelligence direction while keeping decision rights and impact anchored to assigned programs, departments, or sub-functions.

The role leads defined projects and cross-functional workstreams, partners with the AI Accelerator & Adoption Lead, Data Capability leadership, Data Operations, IT/Digital, process owners, and business SMEs, and supports department-level outcomes through structured decision practices, adoption discipline, and appropriate governance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Decision Intelligence Strategy Support & Program Delivery

Contribute to the development and refinement of the GSC Decision Intelligence roadmap for assigned programs, ensuring alignment to department priorities, business value, and senior leadership direction.

Identify, prioritize, and model selected critical and repeatable decisions within assigned business areas, clarifying decision inputs, owners, escalation paths, timing, business rules, and outcome measures.

Support creation of decision inventories, playbooks, and reusable methods that help teams make decisions more explicitly, consistently, and transparently.

Track progress, risks, dependencies, milestones, and benefits for assigned Decision Intelligence initiatives and escalate issues through appropriate governance.

Decision Intelligence Tools & Technology Enablement

Evaluate and pilot approved tools or methods that support decision intelligence within assigned programs, including advanced analytics, scenario modeling, optimization, digital twins, process intelligence, and AI-enabled decision support.

Partner with IT/Digital and business SMEs to translate decision needs into practical technology requirements, user workflows, adoption needs, and value measures.

Use process intelligence and analytics insights to understand how decisions are made today, where bottlenecks or quality issues exist, and where improvements may be needed.

Contribute lessons learned from pilots and implementations to inform broader capability standards and future roadmap input.

Integration with AI, Data & Process Capabilities

Partner with AI, data, process, and digital teams to ensure assigned decision intelligence use cases are supported by appropriate data foundations, business rules, process context, and analytical methods.

Feed decision requirements into data quality priorities, data model discussions, process design, and AI use case planning where relevant.

Help ensure decision points, business rules, and escalation paths are embedded into process models, operating rhythms, and user guidance for assigned areas.

Support human-in-the-loop expectations and practical controls for AI-assisted or automated decision support.

Decision Governance, Quality & Trust

Support governance approaches for assigned decision intelligence initiatives, ensuring transparency, accountability, explainability, auditability, data integrity, and compliance expectations are considered.

Define and monitor KPIs for decision quality, timeliness, adoption, and outcomes at program or department level.

Document assumptions, risks, decision logic, and escalation needs for priority decision models and tools.

Coordinate issue resolution and improvement actions where decision performance, user adoption, or governance gaps are identified.

Adoption, Enablement & Stakeholder Leadership

Develop training content, decision playbooks, communications, demos, and adoption support to embed decision-centric ways of working into assigned teams and operating rhythms.

Lead defined project teams or workstreams, coordinating cross-functional contributors and influencing stakeholders at program, department, or sub-function level.

Communicate progress, risks, value, and decisions needed in a clear, executive-ready manner.

Manage vendor or external SME input where needed for project execution, method validation, issue resolution, or knowledge transfer, without positioning the role as the external industry authority.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

Education:

B.S. or B.A. in supply chain, management, engineering, computer science, data science, operations research, analytics, or a related discipline; Masters, MBA, or equivalent experience preferred.

Certifications or formal training in analytics, data science, AI/ML, decision science, project management, operational excellence, or supply chain preferred.

Experience:

7-10 years of experience in supply chain, analytics, digital transformation, decision support, decision science, process improvement, or related capability-building roles.

Demonstrated experience delivering analytics, decision support, optimization, simulation, process intelligence, or digital capability projects with measurable adoption or business impact.

Experience structuring ambiguous business problems into clear decisions, trade-offs, risks, assumptions, and actions.

Experience leading project teams or workstreams and influencing stakeholders at program, department, or sub-function level.

Strong understanding of data, analytics, AI, process, and human judgment as enablers of better business decisions.

Understanding of GxP, data integrity, privacy, cybersecurity, and regulated environment expectations preferred.

Additional professional and personal requirements include:

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to model decisions, clarify options, and recommend practical improvement actions.

Digital acumen and ability to evaluate tools and techniques against business value, feasibility, risk, and adoption readiness.
