Job Purpose:

The Associate Director Product Management - NPI & Direct Procurement is accountable for maximising the value of Supply Chain NPI, Direct Procurement and related product capability areas by translating business strategy, process needs and user outcomes into a clear product vision, roadmap and investment plan. The portfolio includes capabilities such as Product Data Lifecycle Management, master data setup, supply chain risk management and Direct Procurement execution.

Operating within strategic and financial guardrails set by the Product Domain Lead, the Senior Product Manager balances business value, user experience, technical feasibility, cost, risk, compliance and operational sustainability throughout the product lifecycle. In this role, that means improving launch readiness, right-first-time data, supply continuity, procurement effectiveness and reliable decision-making across the assigned capability area.

The Associate Director Product Management - NPI & Direct Procurement works closely with Product Owners, Business Process Owners, Architects, Engineers, Service Managers, Data and Cyber Security teams and external partners. The role sets product outcomes and priorities, guides delivery choices and ensures that Product Owners have sufficient strategic context and decision guardrails to manage backlogs and releases effectively. The Senior Product Manager remains accountable for the overall coherence of the product roadmap and for demonstrating that investment is improving business performance, adoption, reliability and user experience.

The role also identifies opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation and responsible use of data and AI. Recommendations should remain capability-led and technology-agnostic, with solutions selected because they deliver the required outcome and can be integrated, secured, validated, supported and sustained within the enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Partner with Business Process Owners, functional leaders and users across Supply Chain NPI, Direct Procurement and related capability areas to understand strategic priorities, process pain points and unmet needs and translate these into clear product outcomes.

· Define and maintain the product vision, strategy and roadmap for assigned products and capabilities, aligned to domain strategy, enterprise technology direction, portfolio priorities and measurable business value.

· Develop outcome-based investment proposals and contribute to business cases by defining value hypotheses, costs, benefits, risks, assumptions, dependencies, total cost of ownership and measures of success.

· Set prioritisation guardrails for Product Owners and make roadmap trade-offs based on value, cost, urgency, launch criticality, risk, compliance, operational continuity, capacity and technical dependencies.

· Guide Product Owners and delivery teams so that epics, features and releases remain aligned to product outcomes and do not become disconnected collections of requirements.

· Coach Product Owners in discovery, backlog and value-measurement practice.

· Partner with Solution, Enterprise, Data and Security Architects to assess solution options and ensure that designs are secure, integrated, scalable and supportable, technology-agnostic where appropriate, and aligned with architecture, data and AI standards.

· Establish and review product performance measures covering adoption, process outcomes, launch cycle time, right-first-time data, stability, service effort, user experience, delivery flow, risk reduction and benefit realisation; use insights to adjust priorities.

· Ensure product initiatives comply with required governance for cyber security, data protection, quality, validation, change control, service readiness, continuity, records management, Responsible AI and human accountability in regulated operations.

· Use approved AI tools in day-to-day work and lead the team in using them to improve productivity and ways of working. Apply AI to discovery, backlog refinement and requirement drafting, and coach the team to challenge assumptions and trade-offs. Role-model responsible use, follow GSK’s Responsible AI, privacy and security requirements, and record the review of AI-assisted outputs before acceptance.

· Lead product-level vendor, platform and solution evaluations using transparent, capability-led criteria and contribute to commercial decisions, supplier performance reviews, lifecycle planning and exit or transition decisions.

· Manage product risks, technical debt, dependencies, adoption and operational readiness, ensuring business change, training, support models, documentation, release communications, onboarding needs, decisions and escalations are addressed through the appropriate governance forums.

Basic Requirements:

Education & Professional Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Area of Specialization

· Digital products and portfolio management in complex global environments.

· Supply Chain NPI, product lifecycle data, master data, supply risk, or Direct Procurement processes.

· Product strategy, roadmap development, investment planning, lifecycle management, and benefits realisation.

· Agile, iterative, user-centred and data-led delivery.

· Enterprise technology, ERP, data, integration, security, service management and principles for regulated operations.

· Responsible application of AI, analytics and automation to business processes.

Minimum Level of Job-Related Experience Required

· Typically, 7+ years in product management, supply chain or procurement technology, digital transformation, business systems or a related discipline.

· Proven ownership of product vision, roadmap and investment choices for a product, platform or capability portfolio.

· Experience spanning at least two of the following: NPI or launch management, PLM, PDLM, enterprise master data, supply chain risk management, Direct Procurement, procurement planning or data and insight products.

· Experience translating business strategy and user needs into measurable outcomes, product choices and delivery priorities.

· Experience improving personal and team productivity through approved AI tools, including their use in discovery, backlog refinement or requirement drafting. Demonstrated responsible use within applicable Responsible AI, privacy and security requirements, including review of AI-assisted outputs before acceptance.

· Experience leading Product Owners and cross-functional teams through discovery, design, delivery, adoption, operation and lifecycle decisions.
