Associate/Full Professor - Faculty - Radiology, Translational Biomedical Imaging Research

Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking faculty in translational biomedical imaging research. This position is available at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. Senior faculty appointments require a minimum of 50% salary support from external funding sources.

  • The Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine invites applications for a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to develop a nationally prominent neuroimaging research program. We seek an accomplished investigator with a compelling scientific vision, a sustained record of extramural funding, and demonstrated success in multidisciplinary research and mentorship.

This senior recruitment represents a major institutional investment in imaging science and neuroscience. The successful candidate will shape the strategic direction of neuroimaging research at Ohio State, build an integrated program spanning methodological innovation and clinical translation, and collaborate closely with investigators in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry and Behavioral Health, and the Ohio State Neuroscience Research Institute.

Leadership and Scientific Scope

The appointee will:

  • Develop and lead an internationally recognized, externally funded neuroimaging research program.
  • Advance innovative MRI, PET, molecular imaging, quantitative imaging, and multimodal approaches to brain health and disease.
  • Create collaborative initiatives that connect imaging scientists, neuroscientists, clinicians, engineers, physicists, data scientists, and physician-scientists across the university.
  • Translate imaging technologies, biomarkers, and analytic methods into clinical and population-based investigations.
  • Mentor junior faculty and trainees and contribute to a rigorous, collaborative academic environment.

Exceptional Imaging Environment

The successful candidate will play a key role in the Ohio State Center for Imaging Excellence (CIE) , an institutional hub for imaging innovation, translational research, and clinical implementation. Planned state-of-the-art resources include:

  • A Siemens MAGNETOM Cima.X 3T MRI system with substantial dedicated research access.
  • A Siemens Biograph Vision.X PET/CT system with substantial dedicated research access.
  • Complementary MRI, PET/CT, multimodality imaging, and computational resources across the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.
  • Access to broad clinical and research populations within a large, integrated academic health system.

This environment provides a unique opportunity for a senior investigator to build a cohesive neuroimaging enterprise, develop cross-disciplinary scientific programs, and accelerate translation of advanced imaging methods into human studies and clinical care.

Qualifications

  • MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Academic record appropriate for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor with tenure at The Ohio State University.
  • Internationally recognized scholarship in neuroimaging or a closely related field.
  • Sustained success in obtaining peer-reviewed extramural research funding and an active funded research program.
  • Demonstrated scientific leadership, collaboration, and mentorship.
  • Ability to provide external funding support for at least 50% of base salary.
