Ameresco currently has an opening for an Associate Project Engineer this role will be critical in supporting a growing pipeline of energy and infrastructure projects serving military housing communities nationwide. This position will work from an office in Knoxville, Tennessee reporting to a Sr. Project Manager.

Responsibilities :

• •Assist with customers and project site visits to collect facility, equipment, utility, and operational data.
• •Gather, organize, and analyze energy and performance data to support project development activities.
• •Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with developing preliminary project cost estimates.
• •Support the identification and evaluation of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and infrastructure improvement opportunities.
• •Prepare draft technical narratives, engineering reports, project summaries, and proposal content for review by senior engineers.
• •Track project submittals, requests for information (RFIs), action items, and engineering deliverables.
• •Assist with maintaining project documentation, schedules, meeting notes, and project status reports.
• •Support the preparation of scopes of work, equipment specifications, and design documentation.
• •Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and customers to support project execution and schedules.
• •Provide field support during construction, commissioning, startup, and project implementation activities.
• •Assist with quality control reviews, project closeout documentation, and measurement and verification (M&V) activities.
• •Build technical knowledge of energy efficiency, renewable energy, controls, and infrastructure systems while supporting all phases of project delivery.
• •Maintain positive working relationships with internal teams, customers, and project partners.
• •Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• •Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• •Up to (2) years of engineering, internship, co-op, research, construction, facilities, or project support experience.
• •Ability to review confidential U.S. security information as required.

Additional Qualifications:

• •Internship, co-op, academic project, or professional experience related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, HVAC systems, electrical systems, construction, facilities engineering, or project development.
• •Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, controls, building systems, or renewable energy technologies.
• •Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• •Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• •Exposure to AutoCAD, energy modeling software, solar PV modeling tools, or other engineering software through coursework or internships.
• •Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• •Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• •Interest in pursuing Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or similar professional credentials.
• •Experience organizing and analyzing technical or financial data.
• •Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• •Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• •Willingness to travel to customer and project sites as needed.
• •Valid driver's license in good standing.
