About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and independent Software Developer with a solid technical foundation to join our EdgeTech team within Wealth Management Technology. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with a growth mindset, approaching problems from multiple angles and leveraging modern development practices and AI-assisted tools thoughtfully to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• •Design, develop, and maintain robust applications using spec-driven development approaches across React, Spring Boot, Python, and other modern technologies
• •Independently analyze requirements, identify potential blockers, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision
• •Write clean, maintainable code following established design patterns and best practices
• •Effectively utilize JIRA, Confluence, and other collaboration tools for documentation and knowledge sharing
• •Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
• •Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with a methodical, solution-oriented approach

Required Skills & Experience

Programming & Development

• •Solid programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages
• •Experience with modern technology stacks including Spring Boot, React, and Python
• •Strong understanding of coding principles, design patterns, and software engineering best practices
• •Proficiency with Git/Bitbucket version control and collaborative development workflows

Database & Data Management

• •Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB)
• •Experience with database design, optimization, and querying

AI-Assisted Development

• •Deep understanding of AI models and their appropriate use cases - not just "vibe coding"
• •Demonstrated ability to select and use the right AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini-cli, etc.) based on specific task requirements
• •Knowledge of various AI models (Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini variants, etc.) and their strengths/limitations
• •Ability to contribute to model evaluation and optimization for AI tools within the organization
• •Experience applying AI assistance in a disciplined, spec-driven development approach

DevOps & Deployment

• •Good understanding of DevOps practices and tools
• •Familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, and OpenShift deployments
• •Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Tools & Collaboration

• •Proficiency with JIRA for task management and tracking
• •Experience with Confluence for documentation and knowledge management
• •Ability to work efficiently within DBS's technology ecosystem

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• •JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills for frontend development
• •Knowledge of data engineering concepts and practices
• •Experience with modern frontend frameworks and libraries

Qualifications

• •Bachelor’s degree in computer science
• •2-5 years of relevant software development experience
