What You Will Get To Do

Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities the Part-Time Attendant I - Maintenance role is responsible for:
performing routine facility cleaning in all public washrooms, changerooms and common areas and ensuring facilities as safe and user friendly for patrons;
set up and/or take down and clean-up of facility spaces according to booking schedules; and for rental/permit groups;
providing customer service and responding to the needs of the public and rental organizations;
maintain cleanliness, and safety of exterior areas of the facilities including emptying garbage receptacles, snow removal and salting;
responding to public and staff inquiries, providing assistance;
mitigating risks and ensuring the safety of all users and staff within the facility;
providing direction, training, and advice to part-time staff, and;
assisting in other duties as required.

You listen attentively and ask questions for clarification and understanding. Using sound judgment, you demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound discretion when working with the public.
You’re always happy to learn new things and to help build a working environment that encourages and cultivates new ideas. You foster a collaborative team environment among co-workers, and work well both independently and as part of a team.
What You Bring To Our Team
The successful applicant must possess:
completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D.)
at least twelve (12) months of related experience in recreation facilities;
Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification, in good standing;
working knowledge of facility operations, and associated equipment and maintenance procedures;
demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to deal courteously and effectively with user groups, general public, and program participants;
the ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely;
the ability to lift heavy objects;
a valid Class “G” Driver’s License, maintained in good standing;
a valid, satisfactory police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector (Vulnerable Sector Check)
