We are looking to fill a future vacancy for an Automation Technician (Equipment Owner) to join our team in Brantford, Ontario at our Greater Toronto Fulfillment Centre (GTFC) starting in August 2026.
Automation Technicians are hired at entry level and will be given the tools, responsibility, and opportunity to develop throughout their careers. S ee this video for details on working in a fulfillment centre .
Job Description:
As an Automation Technician, you will:
Install, maintain , and troubleshoot automated systems and equipment including but not limited to autonomous robots responsible for case, layer and/or pallet movements
Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on equipment
Analyze trends and technical data to gain insights, identify issues proactively
Ensure optimal performance and efficiency in fulfilment of customer orders
Learn and develop mechanical, e l e c t r i c a l , digital & software and robotics skills
Build technical skills in others
Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
Minimum of a high school diploma or diploma from a Trade or Technical C ollege in any of these fields: Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Robotics , Engineering , and Digital/Software
Must be able to work shift work (Evenings, Overnight, early mornings) and potentially rotate between evenings, nights, and day shifts
Ability to work at heights, climb stairs/ladders/platforms, etc., and climb on and around equipment
Ability to work in a team
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Applied mechanical skills in an industrial environment and experience with electrical, digital/software, and robotics is an asset
S t r o n g t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g, problem-solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis
Successful completion of a Technical Interview will be required as part of the application process.
Operations Schedule: This site operates continuously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Work Hours:
Able to work 12-hour shifts on days, nights, or evenings. Shifts are assigned depending on business need . We cannot guarantee your preference of shift is what you will be assigned. Day shift is 6:00am-6:30pm and night shift 6:00pm-6:30am.
Overtime may be required . Additional shifts may be required on holidays and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Lift, lower , carry , push & pull objects up to 50 lbs.
Ability to flex, extend, and rotate neck
The ability to work at heights & climb stairs/ladders/platforms, etc., on and around equipment.
Stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time. Surface: Concrete, gravel, asphalt (uneven surfaces), and equipment.
Twist bend at the knees, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and reach.
The ability to meet the requirements of safe operation and personal safety, including wearing PPE and the ability to respond appropriately to various visual and audible alarms and signals
Operate a computer and keyboard to input and access data, and phone as well as scanners and electronic interfaces.
The ability to enter and work in enclosed areas .
The ability to work in extreme temperatures both hot and cold, generally in warehouse conditions including wide variances in temperature, dust and dirt.
Learn/Know terminology and functions of machine components.
Meet the requirements of Quality/Good Manufacturing Practices/Good Lab Practices, following applicable gowning/de-gowning when working in the lab.
Ability to position & move cases of product, bottles, connect hoses, handle glass flasks and bottles, etc. (may include grasping)
Work around strong odor of perfume or wear the appropriate PPE to eliminate the odor.

Effectuer la maintenance préventive et les calibrations sur les équipements.
Analyser les tendances et les données techniques pour obtenir des informations et identifier les problèmes de manière proactive.
Assurer des performances et une efficacité optimales dans l'exécution des commandes clients.
Apprendre et développer des compétences en mécanique, électricité, numérique et logiciels, et en robotique.
