the posting

Haast Autonomous is building an autonomous aircraft network for time-sensitive medical logistics. We’re developing long-range VTOL aircraft, autonomy software, and the operational foundation needed to move critical payloads between hospitals, labs, and healthcare facilities on-demand faster and more reliably.

We’re early, small, and moving quickly. Joining now means you'll have a direct role in shaping the foundation of Haast — our culture, engineering process, testing discipline, partner relationships, and the path from prototype to a real medical logistics network.

We’re looking for high-agency people who want ownership, urgency, and system-level impact from day one.

The Role

Haast is seeking a meticulous Avionics & Electrical Integration Technician to build and maintain the electrical systems used across our aircraft and ground-test platforms.

You will perform precision soldering, manufacture wiring harnesses, integrate avionics and propulsion components, and inspect every electrical assembly before it is installed on an aircraft. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in clean workmanship, careful documentation, and building reliable hardware.

Responsibilities

Perform precision soldering, wire splicing, connector termination, and electrical rework

Manufacture aircraft wiring harnesses from drawings, schematics, and pinout tables

Crimp, assemble, label, route, secure, and inspect aircraft wiring

Integrate flight controllers, ESCs, motors, batteries, sensors, radios, GPS units, cameras, actuators, and power-distribution hardware

Install appropriate strain relief, shielding, grounding, abrasion protection, and cable management

Conduct continuity, resistance, insulation, polarity, and power-on testing

Diagnose intermittent connections, communication faults, voltage drops, and other electrical issues

Inspect assemblies for solder quality, connector engagement, routing, and mechanical security

Support aircraft assembly, ground testing, flight testing, repairs, and rapid prototype iterations

Maintain wiring diagrams, harness records, inspection checklists, and aircraft build documentation

Organize and maintain electrical tools, components, connectors, and consumable inventory

Help establish repeatable workmanship and quality-control standards as the company scales

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with precision soldering and electrical assembly

Experience building wiring harnesses and terminating electrical connectors

Proficiency with crimpers, soldering stations, heat guns, multimeters, power supplies, and common electrical hand tools

Ability to read wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, schematics, and assembly drawings

Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, repeatable workmanship

Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical faults methodically

Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving prototype environment

Ability to work safely around high-voltage and high-current battery systems

Preferred Qualifications

IPC J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or equivalent training

Experience in aerospace, aviation, drones, robotics, automotive, motorsports, or industrial electronics

Experience with Molex, JST, TE Connectivity, Deutsch, Amphenol, D-sub, XT-series, and circular connectors

Experience with CAN, UART, I²C, Ethernet, PWM, RS-232, or RS-485 systems

Experience with lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery systems

Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, CubePilot, or similar autopilot systems

Experience inspecting or reworking printed circuit boards

Familiarity with aerospace wire, shielding, grounding, and EMI-management practices

What Success Looks Like

Aircraft wiring is clean, documented, serviceable, and reliable

Harnesses consistently pass inspection and electrical testing

Electrical faults are identified before they affect flight testing

Prototype changes are implemented quickly without compromising workmanship

Build and inspection processes become increasingly repeatable as the fleet grows

We care more about agency, ownership, taste, and evidence that you can build than whether you match every bullet point. If you have worked on aircraft, drones, robots, vehicles, rockets, or other hard technical systems and want to help build something from the ground up, we want to hear from you.
