Opportunity:

Virtual Service Operations is searching for an AWS Engineer (OpenSearch Serverless) to join our team.

This is a hands-on build role centered on serverless architecture and identity/security implementation. Candidates should be strong Python/CDK builders with deep OpenSearch experience — this is not a traditional Data Architect or Data Lake role.

Key Responsibilities:

• •A serverless-focused builder who combines strong Python/CDK development skills with deep OpenSearch (including Serverless) expertise and solid identity/security fundamentals.
• •Comfortable owning end-to-end implementation of serverless components with embedded authentication and authorization patterns.

Required Skills:

• •Amazon OpenSearch and OpenSearch Serverless — deep, hands-on experience (primary focus of the role)
• •AWS serverless stack — API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB
• •AWS CDK with Python — the solution is built in Python CDK; strong Python and CDK proficiency is essential
• •Identity & access engineering — hands-on experience with JWTs, OAuth, and Lambda authorizers
• •Certificate/token validation — CRLs (Certificate Revocation Lists) and JWKS validation

Requirements

• •8+ years of professional experience
• •Must work from a SCIF all five days a week (preferably in the DC metro area)
• •Active TS/SCI Clearance
• •Please note that this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status
