Your Role

As a Backend Tech Lead with Capgemini, you will lead backend engineering for a strategic Control Plane, ensuring architectural consistency and delivery quality across PSP registry, lifecycle, onboarding, workflow, policy, audit and API services. You will combine hands-on Java and Spring expertise with technical leadership in a cloud-native, highly integrated environment.

In this role you will:

• •Define backend architecture, Java/Spring engineering standards and technical implementation guidelines.
• •Lead the design and development of robust, versioned and documented microservices and REST APIs.
• •Design PSP domain models, lifecycle state machines, workflow transitions, policy controls and complete audit trails.
• •Integrate backend services with WSO2, IAM, Vault/PKI, API gateways, workflow engines, message brokers and external systems.
• •Build resilient asynchronous processing using retries, timeouts, idempotency, dead-letter queues and correlation IDs.
• •Guide relational data design, transactions, migrations, versioning, consistency and traceability.
• •Own Kubernetes application concerns, including deployment configuration, health checks, scaling, observability and troubleshooting.
• •Define unit, integration, contract, component, end-to-end and security testing practices.
• •Conduct code reviews, mentor backend engineers and coordinate technical delivery with Architecture, DevOps, IAM and QA teams.

Your Profile

• •Extensive hands-on experience with Java and Spring Framework/Spring Boot for enterprise application development.
• •Proven technical leadership of microservices, REST APIs and distributed systems.
• •Strong knowledge of Spring Security, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, roles, scopes and service-to-service authentication.
• •Hands-on experience with Kubernetes deployment, configuration, health checks, scaling and production troubleshooting.
• •Strong understanding of relational databases, transactions, schema migrations, versioning and data consistency.
• •Experience with messaging systems and resilient integration patterns, including retry, timeout, idempotency and DLQ handling.
• •Experience with observability practices, including metrics, structured logging and distributed tracing.
• •Knowledge of Helm, CI/CD and GitOps delivery models.
• •Experience integrating WSO2, IAM, PKI/Vault, API gateways or workflow engines is highly desirable.
• •Experience in payments, PSP onboarding, regulated platforms or audit-intensive environments is a strong asset.
• •Strong communication, stakeholder-management, code-review and mentoring skills in international Agile teams.
• •Excellent communication skills in English.
