Summary

The primary objective of this position is to assist in the preparation of a variety of baked goods by following existing recipes and preparing large quantities of breads, pastries, and cakes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• •Follow existing recipes
• •Measure, weigh and prepare ingredients
• •Knead, roll, cut, and prepare dough as needed
• •Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipment
• •Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards
• •Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and tools
• •Monitor items during baking
• •Decorate, glaze, apply icing, and prepare toppings for baked goods
• •Operate slicing, cutting, and wrapping equipment

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• •Basic knowledge of measurements.
• •Ability to read and follow recipes.
• •Basic cake decorating skills.
• •Knowledge of plating cakes and desserts for meal service.
• •Knowledge of bakery supplies and commercial kitchen equipment

Pay Range: $16.90 - $18.00 per hour
