This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood is seeking a Barista to join the Food & Beverage Department. Job Summary:

As a Barista at Homewood, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and espresso beverages, as well as providing exceptional customer service to our guests. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about coffee and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• •Skillfully prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, teas, and other specialty beverages according to established recipes and guest preferences.
• •Greet guests warmly, take orders efficiently, and ensure a positive experience by delivering outstanding service.
• •Maintain a strong understanding of the café menu, including coffee varieties, specialty drinks, food items, and seasonal offerings.
• •Accurately take guest orders, process payments, and ensure prompt delivery of beverages and food items.
• •Keep the café area, including the espresso machine, counters, and seating areas, clean and well-organized at all times.
• •Monitor and replenish inventory levels, ensuring all supplies (e.g., coffee beans, syrups, milk) are fresh and available.
• •Work closely with other café and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
• •Recommend additional items or promotions to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
• •Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• •Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• •Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred.
• •Basic knowledge of food service, cafe operations, and guest service standards.
• •Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and composure.
• •Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• •Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with team members.
• •Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving environment with minimal supervision.
• •Positive attitude with a willingness to step into multiple roles as needed.
• •Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly based on business levels.
• •Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic.
• •Current Food Handler certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date).

• •Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• •Must be able to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required based on business demand.
• •Ability to stay calm and focused during high-volume service periods.
• •Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• •Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing and walking for extended periods, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $21-$23 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
