Description
AGENCY OVERVIEW
The Action Center is a nonprofit organization in Lakewood, Colorado, with 57 years of experience assisting people facing hardship. Each year, the organization supports more than 40,000 individuals, with food assistance being the most requested service.
In 2027, The Action Center will move to a new community hub. This transformative facility will bring health, education, and supportive services together in one dynamic location, allowing us to expand our outreach and impact. Our new hub will empower individuals and families by providing comprehensive resources and support, reinforcing our mission to create lasting change in the community.
JOB SUMMARY
This entry-level position primarily supports community intake and access to no-cost food and clothing services. The role works directly with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, helping them understand their needs, learn about available services, and connect with programs and community resources. Responsibilities include learning about Action Center programs, providing friendly, supportive assistance, helping address challenges, and making appropriate decisions to ensure individuals and families receive timely, respectful service.
The position will initially be based at the Action Center’s 14th Avenue location in Lakewood, focusing on intake and helping community members access services. As the organization transitions to the Daylight Collective on South Teller Street in Lakewood in February, this position will move to the new location and support the transition to the new service model. These transitional duties will include helping community members navigate the Action Center's new building and services, as well as assisting with setup and daily operations.
The regular schedule for this Part-time position will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Flexibility in days and hours is required based on program needs.
We are committed to diversity and building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.
