Job Description – BIM Specialist – Electrical

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced BIM Specialist – Electrical with 8–10 years of experience in building projects to support electrical BIM modelling, design coordination, and project deliverables. The candidate should have strong expertise in Revit MEP, electrical building services, multidisciplinary coordination, and BIM standards, with the ability to deliver high-quality models and drawings for local and international projects.

Key Responsibilities

• •Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical building services using Autodesk Revit MEP.
• •Prepare electrical layouts and coordinated drawings for lighting, power distribution, containment, earthing, and other building electrical systems.
• •Produce plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and construction documentation as per project requirements.
• •Coordinate electrical models with HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and architectural and structural disciplines.
• •Conduct clash detection and model coordination using Navisworks or similar tools, and resolve clashes in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• •Ensure BIM models and deliverables comply with project specifications, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and applicable standards.
• •Support the preparation and updating of coordinated models, shop drawings, and as-built documentation.
• •Review models and drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with design intent.
• •Coordinate with design engineers, BIM coordinators, and project teams to meet project milestones and delivery schedules.
• •Support model audits, quality checks, and implementation of BIM standards and workflows.
• •Assist in resolving technical modelling issues and provide guidance to junior BIM team members where required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• •Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• •8–10 years of relevant experience in electrical BIM modelling for building projects.
• •Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• •Working knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
• •Good understanding of electrical building services, including lighting, small power, cable containment, and power distribution systems.
• •Experience working on commercial buildings, residential developments, offices, hospitals, hotels, or other complex building projects.
• •Understanding of multidisciplinary BIM coordination and construction documentation.
• •Familiarity with international project standards and BIM workflows.
• •Strong attention to detail, coordination, communication, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Experience working on overseas building projects.
• •Knowledge of ISO 19650 principles and BIM Execution Plans.
• •Exposure to common data environments (CDEs) and collaborative BIM workflows.
• •Experience with Dynamo or other BIM automation tools would be an advantage.
