Break Press Operator / Fabricator

Description

The primary objective of the Break Press Operator / Fabricator is to manufacture traffic control metal components and enclosures using various processes including cutting, punching, deburring and bending equipment using press brake machines.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• •Must be able to read engineering / specification drawings to obtain information regarding the fabricating of components.
• •Set-up and operate fabricating machinery, such as turret punch press, manual & robotic brake press, CNC Mill and CNC Lathe, or other similar fabrication equipment.
• •Certified to shop standards in at least two of the following pieces of equipment; punch press, brake press, robot welder, mill, and lathe.
• •Verify conformance of parts to specifications, using precision measuring equipment.
• •Conducts oneself professionally through appearance and conduct.
• •Responds to work orders in a timely manner with emphasis on operation accuracy & support.
• •Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma/GED with relevant year’s sheet metal experience required. Technical degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Able to communicate effectively and work well as a member of a team.

Must be able to pay attention to detail

Requires the use of shop mathematics, geometry and trigonometry

Must be able to stand for long periods of time often doing repetitive motions

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is required to use hands repetitively.

The employee must occasionally lift 45 pounds to waist level and 30 pounds to shoulder height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus.
