The Business Analyst works in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced consulting environment as part of a collaborative team of consulting, technology, and operations professionals. Our team’s goal is to provide superior service to state agencies and school district clients, including work related to special education management systems, federal and state funding requirements and claiming, and other school-based revenue programs.

This position requires a self-starter who can quickly learn web-based technologies, analyze business and technical information, adapt to changing client and market needs and conditions, and help guide clients through implementation, training, and ongoing support. The Business Analyst coordinates project requirements and client expectations, responds to client inquiries, analyzes data and business processes, and communicates issues and recommendations to project leaders and software development teams. Success in the role requires strong judgment, intellectual curiosity, flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional client service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of materials and presentations for conferences, seminars, and client meetings; attending and participating as assigned.
  • Develop competency in web-based technologies, system analysis, and software development processes.
  • Support clients through implementation, major project phases, training, and ongoing use of technology applications and services.
  • Gather, document, validate, and coordinate business requirements, project needs, and client expectations.
  • Prepare and present written status reports, analyses, deliverables, presentations, training materials, and other client-facing communications.
  • Conduct research on federal and state policy, legislation, industry requirements, and funding requirements relevant to assigned projects.
  • Define, document, and improve business processes and support the development of practical business and technical solutions.
  • Participate as a member of proposal development teams by researching content, writing sections, coordinating contributions, and supporting final submissions.
  • Analyze large data sets; identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect, enter, maintain, and quality-check project-related data and documentation.
  • Provide project management support to Consultants and Managers, including tracking activities, deliverables, risks, and follow-up items.
  • Assist with project budgets, supporting documentation, and preparation of client invoices, as assigned.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and perform other responsibilities as needed to meet client and project objectives.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, clients, or priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.

Proven initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to move work forward while seeking guidance when appropriate.

Flexibility and willingness to embrace change, shifting priorities, and evolving client needs.

Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and building productive working relationships.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Access, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; SQL experience is preferred.

Required Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Education, business, or technical fields are preferred.

Experience: One to three years of relevant experience in K-12 education, public-sector programs, education technology, or a related field.

Location: Must be based in either the Charlotte or Raleigh, NC area, or Greenville, SC

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is primarily performed in a hybrid environment. Frequent in-person interaction in an office or professional services setting will be required. Travel is required based on client and project needs (up to 35%).

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides a reasonable range of compensation for this role. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $56,200-$68,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
