Job Description

Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTI) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Leader to establish, drive, and continuously grow the firm’s technology resilience capabilities across infrastructure, applications, platforms, cloud services, and end-user technology.

This role is responsible for ensuring that technology services can withstand, respond to, and recover from operational disruptions, cyber incidents, infrastructure failures, third-party outages, and other business-impacting events. This role includes being accountable for the overarching frameworks, processes, recovery strategies, and governance structures, while working closely with each technology tower to ensure adherence to program.

Reporting into the firm’s Enterprise Technology function with a dotted line into the firm’s global Business Continuity Leader, this position owns technology recovery readiness across the technology estate and serves as the primary leader for technology continuity and disaster recovery governance. The successful candidate will build a culture of resilience, establish measurable recovery capabilities, drive accountability with service owners, and ensure that continuity planning evolves alongside the firm’s technology modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Resilience Strategy & Governance

· Develop and maintain the technology resilience strategy, roadmap, standards, and operating model.

· Establish governance frameworks, policies, and controls that align business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resilience, cyber recovery, and crisis management capabilities.

· Define technology resilience metrics, key risk indicators, and executive reporting.

· Ensure resilience requirements are embedded into architecture reviews, platform design decisions, cloud adoption initiatives, and technology transformation programs.

· Drive continuous improvement based on testing outcomes, incidents, audits, and emerging threats.

Technology Recovery Planning

· Ensure and track that every critical application, platform, infrastructure service, and technology team has documented, maintained, and approved recovery plans.

· Establish standards for Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs), Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs), service criticality classifications, recovery dependencies, and minimum viable operating levels.

· Support the maintenance and validation of a technology service inventory that maps applications, infrastructure, cloud services, vendors, and business dependencies.

· Ensure all service owners understand their recovery obligations and remain accountable for plan quality and readiness.

· Drive collaboration with Business Units, Corporate Functions, and individual offices to prepare for BCP events based on specific needs of impacted groups, teams, and locations.

Disaster Recovery Readiness

· Lead the firm’s technology disaster recovery program across cloud infrastructure, on-premise platforms, core applications, network services, end-user technology, and collaboration platforms.

· Work with the firm’s Chief Architect to validate that recovery architectures, failover capabilities, backup solutions, and resiliency patterns meet business requirements.

· Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to identify individual points of failure and remediation priorities.

· Drive technology resilience requirements into platform lifecycle management and modernization efforts.

· Support internal audits, risk assessments, client due diligence requests, and regulatory reviews related to resilience and recovery preparedness.

· Establish reporting processes that provide visibility into preparedness, testing results, residual risks, and remediation progress.

Testing & Exercising

· Develop and maintain a comprehensive testing program for all critical technology services.

· Establish standards for tabletop exercises, simulation exercises, technical failover tests, cyber recovery exercises, and full-scale disaster recovery events.

· Ensure each technology domain maintains documented test schedules, test plans, results, lessons learned, and remediation actions.

· Facilitate executive and technology leadership participation in crisis simulations and recovery exercises.

· Track remediation actions through completion and validate risk reduction outcomes.

Operational Resilience & Crisis Management

· Serve as the technology point of contact during major incidents and crisis events.

· Coordinate cross-functional technology recovery efforts during disruptive events.

· Partner with Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, Operations, and Engineering teams during incidents and technology outages.

· Support executive crisis management teams with impact assessment, recovery planning, and readiness reporting.

· Provide clear executive-level communications regarding technology recovery status, risks, and dependencies.

Required Experience

· 10+ years of experience in technology risk, resilience, disaster recovery, infrastructure operations, technology governance, cybersecurity, or enterprise technology leadership.

· Demonstrated experience leading large-scale BCP/DR or operational resilience programs within a complex enterprise environment.

· Strong understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity management, operational resilience, cyber recovery, incident command structures, cloud recovery architectures, infrastructure resilience, and technology risk management.

· Experience managing enterprise-wide testing and exercise programs.

· Experience engaging with executive leadership, regulators, auditors, and risk functions.

· Financial services or highly regulated industry experience preferred.

· Demonstrated experience building strong partnerships across engineering, infrastructure, security, cloud, operations, and business teams.
