These firms operate across multiple geographies, business lines and client segments and increasingly require coordinated engagement across markets.
We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Associate to join the GFI team in London. The individual will partner closely with Business Development Managers responsible for Capital Group's largest strategic accounts while supporting broader fund selector, discretionary and strategic account initiatives across the GFI team.
This is a commercially focused business development role combining strategic account planning, client engagement, market intelligence, relationship development and cross-functional mobilisation. The successful candidate will play a meaningful role in helping Capital Group deepen partnerships with some of the world's largest financial institutions while contributing directly to business growth, strategic initiatives and client outcomes.
Over time, the individual will be expected to assume increasing ownership of strategic projects, client relationships and commercial activity across assigned accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Development
Partner with Business Development Managers to support Capital Group's most significant global financial intermediary relationships.
Contribute to the development, execution and ongoing management of account plans across priority strategic accounts.
Identify opportunities to deepen relationships across advisory, discretionary, retail, insurance, sub-advisory and digital distribution channels.
Develop a strong understanding of client organisations, key decision-makers, strategic priorities and competitive positioning.
Coordinate activity across markets, functions and client segments to support delivery of account objectives.
Support mobilisation around strategic initiatives, product launches and partnership opportunities across assigned firms.
Maintain visibility of pipeline activity, relationship developments and commercial opportunities within Salesforce.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
Support the preparation, execution and follow-up of client meetings, due diligence sessions, conferences and industry events.
Participate actively in client meetings, developing relationships with fund selectors, research analysts, discretionary portfolio managers and senior stakeholders.
Build knowledge of client investment processes, business priorities and decision-making frameworks.
Over time, assume ownership of selected client relationships, projects and engagement initiatives.
Represent Capital Group professionally in client-facing situations and contribute to strengthening long-term partnerships.
Manager Selection & Investment Due Diligence
Support and progressively lead engagement with fund selectors, research teams and investment committees across priority GFI relationships.
Develop a detailed understanding of client manager selection frameworks, research priorities, due diligence requirements and approval processes.
Coordinate responses to requests for information, due diligence reviews, investment research meetings and ongoing monitoring requirements.
Partner with investment specialists, product teams and portfolio managers to position Capital Group strategies clearly and accurately within client selection processes.
Track manager selection activity, ratings, approved-list status, review cycles and related commercial opportunities across assigned accounts.
Strategic Initiatives & Market Intelligence
Support development of strategic themes and value propositions used in client engagement.
Conduct market, competitor and industry research to identify emerging opportunities and risks.
Contribute to the articulation and deployment of Capital Group's strategic partnership offering across GFI firms.
Keep abreast of industry trends affecting wealth management, fund distribution and financial intermediaries.
Support targeted marketing campaigns and coordinated engagement initiatives across strategic accounts.
Business Analytics & Commercial Insights
Coordinate the production and analysis of account reporting, including assets, flows, market share, share of wallet, pipeline activity and relationship metrics.
Gather and synthesise client intelligence to support strategic planning and business development activity.
Partner with reporting, analytics and marketing teams to create actionable insights that help grow Capital Group's business with key intermediary partners.
Monitor progress against account objectives and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.
Success Measures
Meaningful contribution to growth across assigned strategic accounts.
Development of trusted relationships with key client stakeholders.
Effective execution of account plans and strategic initiatives.
Successful coordination and mobilisation across internal stakeholders.
Delivery of actionable commercial insights and market intelligence.

Strong commercial instinct and interest in business development.
Good understanding of investment markets, fund distribution and intermediary channels.
Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
Strong analytical, organisational and project management skills.
