fal is the generative media ecosystem powering the next generation of AI products. We build the infrastructure, tools, and model access that teams need to move from idea to production, and do it at scale without compromise. For developers and enterprises, fal is the foundation that makes generative media not just possible, but practical: a unified platform where high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability come together to unlock new categories of AI-native products.

As generative media reshapes industries across a market projected to grow by hundreds of billions over the next decade, fal is becoming the ecosystem that ambitious teams build on.

You'll be the business partner and own searches end to end, from shaping the role with the hiring manager to sourcing, assessing, closing and handing off a great start. You'll move between technical and non-technical roles, so one week might be infrastructure engineers and the next might be finance, legal or GTM.

fal is deliberately flat and moves extremely fast. We need someone who can take a search, decide how to win it and run with it.

What you'll do

Own searches end to end: intake, strategy, sourcing, screening, interview process, offer and close, across engineering, research, GTM, finance, legal and operations

Advise the business: push back on role design, set realistic expectations with market data, and tell hiring managers what the talent market will and won't give them. Your read on candidates should shape hiring decisions

Find the non-obvious people: go past the obvious LinkedIn searches to find strong candidates others overlook, like adjacent backgrounds, under-the-radar builders and people who aren't looking yet

Source relentlessly: build pipelines through direct outreach, referrals, communities, events and AI sourcing tools. You write outreach people actually answer

Close: share fal's story, understand what each candidate actually cares about, run comp conversations and get offers signed

Raise the bar: help calibrate interview loops and screens so we hire for high agency and independent thinking, not just a strong résumé

Build as you go: improve processes, templates and reporting in Ashby, and use AI tools to automate the repetitive parts of recruiting

What we're looking for

Required:

5+ years of full-cycle recruiting, with meaningful time in-house at a high-growth startup

A track record across both technical roles (engineering, infrastructure, ML) and non-technical roles (GTM, finance, legal, ops). You can go deep on a technical search and switch to a legal or finance search the same afternoon

A strong sourcer. You can point to hires you found who weren't applying

A trusted advisor to senior leaders. You're comfortable disagreeing with a hiring manager and bringing data to back it up

Strong closer, comfortable owning offer and comp conversations

High agency. You can run a search without anyone managing you and you don't wait for direction

Genuinely excited about AI and generative media, and wants to help build the company shaping it

Preferred:

Experience at an AI, infrastructure or developer-tools company

Experience hiring early or first-of-kind roles where the profile has to be figured out

Comfortable with Ashby, and with AI sourcing and automation tools

How we work (please read)

fal is intentionally flat: there are very few titles, and almost everyone reports to a senior leader rather than a layer of managers. People here take real ownership, move fast and don't care about hierarchy. You'll thrive if a messy, high-autonomy, build-as-you-go environment sounds energizing rather than stressful.

U.S. EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY INFORMATION:

fal provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other classification protected by applicable law.
