Business Systems AI Intern

The SMIT Marine Corps & OCONUS (MC&O) team is seeking a Business Systems & AI Solutions Intern to support automation and process improvement as part of the US Navy SMIT MC&O Team.

This intern will work directly with MC&O leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance and integrate internal tools, streamline workflows, and leverage AI to automate manual processes where applicable.

Primary Responsibilities:

• •Enhance and integrate reporting tools, automation and AI
• •Maintain and enhance internally developed tools
• •Develop or support tools that analyze data to identify similar or analogous tasks
• •Conduct targeted research on technical services to support automation

Basic Qualifications:

• •Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
• •Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and macros
• •Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• •Ability to multi-task, self-assign work, and operate in a fast-paced proposal environment
• •Strong written and verbal communication skills
• •Candidates must be US citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

• •Experience with JavaScript, Visual Basic/VBA, and/or Python
• •Experience applying AI or generative AI tools to business or analytical problems
• •Familiarity with Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar platforms
• •Experience working with automation tools, data repositories, or legacy systems
• •Ability to remain upbeat, positive, and constructive under high-pressure deadlines

Pay Range:

Pay Range $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
