About the Role

We are expanding our Store Design & Experience team and seeking an early-career Civil-focused CAD Industry Specialist to support the development of Concept Site Plans (CSPs) for Circle K projects nationwide. This role combines CAD drafting, site planning, regulatory research, and basic civil design knowledge to produce accurate and feasible conceptual site layouts.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of experience in CAD drafting, civil design support, surveying, architecture, or a related field and is looking to grow their technical skills within a fast-paced retail development environment.

Key Responsibilities

Site Planning & Drafting

• •Create and update Concept Site Plans (CSPs) using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• •Develop conceptual site layouts incorporating building placement, parking, circulation, access points, and basic utility considerations.
• •Maintain and update CAD files throughout design development and project revisions.
• •Assist in maintaining internal CAD standards, templates, and drawing libraries.

Regulatory Research & Compliance

• •Research zoning requirements, setbacks, easements, right-of-way restrictions, and other development constraints.
• •Support project teams by documenting jurisdictional requirements and site development considerations.
• •Review surveys, aerial imagery, topographic maps, and available engineering documents to support site planning decisions.
• •Identify potential site constraints such as elevation changes, access challenges, utility conflicts, or drainage concerns.
• •Apply a basic understanding of grading, stormwater, and site development principles when evaluating site feasibility.
• •Coordinate with licensed engineers and civil consultants for detailed engineering analysis and design.

Collaboration & Coordination

• •Work closely with Real Estate, Design, Construction, Architecture, and external consultants to support project development.
• •Participate in project review meetings and incorporate feedback into plan revisions.
• •Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Quality Control & Documentation

• •Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company standards.
• •Maintain organized project documentation and version control.
• •Address drawing comments and redlines from internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.

Also Considered:

• •Associate degree in Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture Technology, or a related program.
• •Technical drafting certification or equivalent CAD training.

Experience

• •1-2 years of experience in CAD drafting, civil design support, surveying, architecture, land development, or related fields.
• •Internship, co-op, or entry-level experience will be considered.
• •Experience with retail or commercial development is a plus but not required.

Technical Skills

• •Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
• •Experience with Civil 3D preferred.
• •Ability to read and interpret surveys, site plans, and engineering drawings.
• •Basic understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, and site development concepts.
• •Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and similar project coordination tools preferred.
