Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch is a renowned farm-to-table restaurant nestled in the heart of Napa Valley. We pride ourselves on serving fresh, sustainable dishes made with ingredients grown on our estate.

Nestled beneath the shade of a towering blue spruce at the north end of Farmstead, our charming outdoor Garden Lounge + Café offers the perfect retreat to start the day with coffee and breakfast. It is a great spot to relax or meet friends to start the day.

As a Cafe Barista, you’ll enjoy serving our local customers by preparing Stumptown Coffee Roasters coffee drinks along with breakfast items and pastries. We’re looking for genuinely warm and friendly candidates who love making people happy with the desire to go the extra mile for our guests. This job is perfect for someone who values working independently without supervision and enjoys working early mornings while having evenings free.

Responsibilities

Provide coffee, espresso and service

Prepare food for service, including paninis, juices and sandwiches

Assist with retail sales of specialty merchandise, food items, olive oil and wine

Assess customer needs and style and present information accordingly

Complete transactions accurately on point of sales system, wine club and cash transactions

Complete opening and closing duties of our outdoor café

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education, Experience and Required Skills

2 years of barista experience in an upscale-casual coffee house or restaurant

Knowledge of coffee drinks, food and wine

Ability to work Café hours 6:30am to 11:30am

Ability to work Monday, Tuesday and Fridays. Some weekends and holidays, flexibility in schedule is desired

Ability to learn and execute point of sale computer software procedures

Ability to develop relationships quickly and generate long term relationships with customers

Food Handler's certification

Must possess a valid California RBS Certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with unexpected situations

Must be able to lift, balance, and carry plates of food

Must be able to lift cases of wine on a daily basis

Must be able to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objects, tools and equipment operations

Must be able to bend or twist body

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds

Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Compensation and Benefits

Part-time hourly position

Compensation: $18 - $22 per hour plus tips
