Position Summary: This position oversees and directs service, according to NBG standards, including but not limited to, recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, ordering, organizing, and supervising service. This position will also include invoicing, inventory, and other related items. The position will also oversee the cash bars, event set up and break downs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish specific knowledge of food and beverage products and service and have ability to perform all positions in operations in order to supervise, direct, and train all personnel in Fogg Café.
- Monitors daily performance of staff and ensures compliance of established policies and procedures.
- Sets example by extending the best service to all guests.
- Accurately performs daily bookkeeping for the cafe and cash bars.
- Correctly coordinating the setting up and breaking down of internal events and cash bars.
- Maintaining an organized and adequate inventory of beer, wine, liquor and paper goods, coffee, tea, sugars, and specific cleaning supplies.
- Processing mail and incoming information to correct channels.
- Communicating with kitchen and garden.
- Understanding and training in POS systems.
- Maintaining office supplies and inventory.
- Food ordering and inventory.
- Displays punctuality, and reliability in areas of supervision, reporting, and organizing the department.
- Conducts self positively and sets the tone for the rest of the department.
- Ensures the highest level of guest satisfaction at the café and during catering functions.
- Monitors and enforce uniform standards along with hygiene and safety and sanitation practices.
- Performs budget in assigned areas.
- Performing additional projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Preferred minimum of 4 years’ restaurant experience as well as supervisory experience.
- Weekends, nights, and holidays are required. A flexible schedule is a must.
- Knowledge of POS systems.
- Must be able to listen attentively and facilitate the communication process to other staff.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bending and kneeling. Work in fluctuating temperatures as well as noisy environment.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ensures highest level of guest satisfaction at the café and during catering functions.
- Monitors and enforces safety and sanitation practices.
- Have reliable transportation.
