Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Calibration Coordinator to join our facility management and real estate team based in Kinston, North Carolina.

The Airbus Aerosystems Kinston facility sits at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, specializing in the production of large, advanced composite aerostructures. Our team builds critical components for the state-of-the-art Airbus A350 XWB, including the composite center fuselage and wing spar.

Your Challenges:
- Monthly Tracking: Compile and generate the master tracking spreadsheet from Gauge Suite identifying all tooling and gauges due for calibration; distribute this data to production managers, team leads, and shop floor stakeholders to facilitate component location.
- Daily Reconciliation: Update the active gauge tracking spreadsheet daily, removing tools that have been returned or reporting missing assets through the formal Lost Tool Report workflow (requiring Department Manager and Quality sign-offs).
- Cross Co Vendor Logistics: Execute the primary weekly calibration cycle every Wednesday. Pack and manifest outbound gauges using Gauge Suite-generated packing slips, verify incoming inventory against vendor documents, and route passing tools to their respective area owners.

- Certificate Auditing: Conduct meticulous reviews and approvals of calibration certificates provided by third-party vendors to ensure they conform to aerospace metrics.
- Failure Protocol Containment: Identify and isolate gauges that fail calibration thresholds; immediately communicate certificate copies and tool usage details to Quality Engineering to assess potential manufacturing or product risks.
- Specialized Outside Vendors: Coordinate with off-site specialty vendors for specialized calibration. Manage price quote acquisition, input Service Tracking System (STS) actions for Purchase Order (PO) creation, and handle final logistics/shipping forms.
- NDI Compliance Integration: Ensure all Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) gauges are accompanied by completed Calibration Requirements Forms when requesting vendor quotes.
- Database Management: Keep software records up to date with precise tool ownership transfers, physical storage changes, and descriptive lifecycle notes.
- Regulatory Compliance Readiness: Ensure all certification records are preserved for audit pathways; serve as a primary support resource for extracting history lineages during annual internal and external facility quality audits.
The Company will provide appropriate assistance in job training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions including the following:
Obtain and deliver material and equipment necessary to support plant maintenance and repair.
- Work from diagrams, prints, specifications or verbal orders.
- Use hand tools, powered tools and shop equipment.
- Perform disassembly and assembling operations necessary to accomplish assignment.
- Enter and retrieve data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and order parts required to accomplish the tasks (except as relates to inventory, store, record, issue and any other duties related to material support technician.)

Your Boarding Pass:
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in tool shop management, tracking databases, inventory logistics, calibration coordination, or quality control inside a production facility.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency utilizing specialized inventory databases (such as Gauge Suite) and intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning platforms like SAP is highly preferred.
- Quality Standards Awareness: Demonstrated knowledge of industrial safety policies, quality metrics, and tool compliance tracking mechanisms.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, and navigate a large aerospace shop floor daily; capacity to lift and handle inventory weights up to 30 lbs while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel-toed boots.
