Job Description & Summary
At PwC, our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals.
In capital markets accounting advisory services at PwC, you will focus on providing strategic guidance on a broad range of technical accounting, financial reporting, transaction structures and capital markets topics. You will advise clients on complex accounting advisory and financial reporting issues around deals (both public and private) and other transformational business events that may impact an organisation’s value.
Are you ready to work on the most complex financial transactions in the Netherlands?
Think IPOs, mergers & acquisitions, GAAP conversions and refinancing deals – all involving intricate accounting and financial reporting challenges. As a CMAA Associate at PwC, you'll be at the center of it from day one.
Our Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory team advises leading companies on complex accounting and financial reporting matters during moments of exceptional change. Whether it's the application of new accounting standards, the execution of capital markets and M&A transactions, or large-scale transformation projects, we help our clients navigate the embedded accounting and reporting complexity. We do this both as trusted advisors to our non-audit clients and as specialists supporting our audit teams on complex accounting and financial reporting matters.
What you'll do
As a CMAA Associate, you'll be actively involved in client projects and develop deep expertise in accounting and financial reporting. Your responsibilities include:
· Deliver client work – Prepare reports, presentations, financial analyses and data processing as part of project teams
· Analyse complex transactions – Research, analyse and assess the impact of accounting standards on capital markets and M&A deals transactions, covering topics such as leasing, consolidations, refinancing, hedging, GAAP conversions, revenue recognition and business combinations
· Present your findings – Share your analyses and recommendations with project teams and contribute to shaping client solutions
· Build technical expertise – Develop strong accounting knowledge under IFRS, US GAAP and Dutch GAAP
· Master modern tools – Utilise and sharpen your skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Alteryx and Power BI, as well as AI tools and PwC's internally developed applications
· Contribute to the team – Participate actively in team discussions and internal initiatives
· Grow into new roles – As you progress, you'll take on coaching responsibilities, participate directly in client conversations and lead workstreams within projects
What we're looking for
· 🎓 You have completed (or are in the final phase of) a Master's degree in Accountancy, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Econometrics, Data Science or a related quantitative/technical field
· 🔍 You have a genuine interest in complex accounting and regulatory topics and you're eager to understand the "why" behind the numbers
· 🤖 You have an interest in emerging technologies such as AI and are excited about how they can be applied to transform accounting and advisory services
· 🤝 You have strong interpersonal skills – you're a team player who enjoys collaborating closely with colleagues
· 🚀 You are ambitious and curious, with a drive to continuously learn and develop yourself
· 🌍 You are fluent in English, both spoken and written. Fluency in Dutch is a strong plus, as some client interactions take place in Dutch
· 📚 You are willing to pursue a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA) to further strengthen your expertise
· 🏢 You are willing to work from our Amsterdam office or a client location at least 4 days per week. We believe in learning by doing and doing it together. Our collaborative culture and on-the-job coaching thrive when we're in the same room
What we offer

· A competitive salary based on your experience, with the opportunity to advance quickly
· 30 vacation days, with the option to purchase additional days
· Choose the mobility option that suits you best: an electric lease car or a mobility allowance, plus access to various mobility providers via one convenient app
